Over 8,300 newborns were born at healthcare facilities during the four days of the Lunar New Year holiday.

According to a quick report on healthcare during the Tet holiday from the Ministry of Health to the Government Office on February 18th (the second day of the Lunar New Year of the Horse), aggregated data from reports of medical facilities under the Ministry of Health, 34 provincial and city health departments, and health sector agencies nationwide recorded 89,006 patients receiving treatment at healthcare facilities as of noon on February 18th.

Over the past 24 hours, medical facilities have examined and treated more than 39,200 patients. Doctors performed over 2,200 surgeries, including 407 emergency cases.

In the past 24 hours, 2,011 newborns were born at medical facilities. In total, over the four days of Tet (from the morning of February 14th to the morning of February 18th, or from the 28th of the 12th lunar month to the 2nd day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse), 8,358 newborns were born via normal delivery and cesarean section at medical facilities.
