On the afternoon of January 23, immediately after the closing of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department and the Press Center of the 14th Party Congress held an international press conference to announce the results of the 14th Congress. General Secretary To Lam presided over and spoke at the press conference.

Also attending were members of the Politburo : Tran Cam Tu, Standing Member of the Secretariat; Le Minh Hung, Secretary of the Central Committee and Head of the Central Organization Department; Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Central Committee and Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Pham Gia Tuc, Secretary of the Central Committee and Chief of the Central Party Office; Doan Minh Huan, Secretary of the Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy; Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Member of the Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; members of the Central Committee; representatives of leaders from central committees, ministries, branches, and agencies; and over 700 reporters representing domestic and international news agencies, radio and television stations.

Speaking at the press conference, General Secretary To Lam expressed his gratitude to reporters from news agencies and newspapers for covering the Congress, helping the people of the whole country, our compatriots abroad, and international friends to promptly grasp the developments, situation, and successes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam .

On behalf of the Presidium of the 14th National Congress and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the General Secretary affirmed that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam was a resounding success, a very successful event. This is also a milestone in the 96-year history of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the flow of the Vietnamese nation's thousand-year-old civilization and heroism.

The General Secretary summarized the keywords of the 14th National Congress, which are "unity, democracy, discipline, breakthrough, development, responsibility, dedication, intellect, science, for the people, strategic autonomy, self-reliance, self-confidence, national pride, for a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, thriving, civilized, happy Vietnam, steadily advancing towards socialism." This shows the success of the Congress as well as the new features and fundamental decisions made by the 14th National Congress.

"The 14th National Congress of the Party was truly a congress of unity and solidarity, demonstrating the will, character, aspirations, determination, and cultural strength of the Vietnamese nation and the Communist Party of Vietnam in the new stage of national development," the General Secretary emphasized, and once again thanked domestic and foreign journalists and reporters for relatively fully disseminating the spirit, momentum, and content of the Congress to all Vietnamese people and international friends.

The General Secretary stated that the 14th National Congress not only achieved high consensus on the content of the documents and action program, but also achieved very high consensus and focus in the selection of personnel for the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The Congress elected a Central Committee of 200 members, including 180 full members and 20 alternate members. Immediately afterwards, the Central Committee elected the Politburo, the Secretariat, the General Secretary, and the Party's leadership bodies such as the Central Inspection Committee, the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, and assigned members of the Politburo and the Secretariat to participate in various tasks.

"The comrades who are members of the 14th Central Committee are typical representatives of approximately 5.6 million members of the Communist Party of Vietnam, possessing all the standards of moral character, prestige, competence, and qualifications, and were elected by the Congress with high confidence to the Party's leadership bodies between two Congresses to shoulder important responsibilities before the Party and the people in the new revolutionary period," the General Secretary affirmed.

Providing further information on the Congress's results, the General Secretary stated that the Congress had oriented the building of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, especially the leaders of the Party and State of the 14th term, into a clean, strong collective, truly united, with high consensus in will and action, demonstrating pioneering spirit, exemplary conduct, fighting spirit, action, discipline, and a willingness to sacrifice themselves for the noble cause of the Party and for the prosperous and happy lives of the people.

The Congress also unanimously adopted historic decisions to successfully achieve the two 100-year strategic goals set by the 13th Party Congress.

The General Secretary expressed his confidence that, with the strength of the nation's historical roots, with the rich tradition of nearly a century of leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with the support, cooperation, and unity of the entire people, and with the encouragement, support, and cooperation of numerous international friends and progressive people around the world, we will certainly successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party, and will certainly successfully build a socialist Vietnam that is peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy.

At the press conference, General Secretary To Lam answered questions from domestic and international reporters regarding the important results of the 14th National Congress of the Party.

On behalf of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Comrade Trinh Van Quyet, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, respectfully thanked the General Secretary for his attention, coordination, and positive contributions from domestic and international agencies, organizations, and journalists.

Comrade Trinh Van Quyet stated that the press conference was a forum for dialogue and communication, clearly demonstrating the proactive, transparent, responsible, and consistent spirit of the Communist Party of Vietnam in providing official, timely, and complete information on the country's development guidelines, policies, and vision. Through frank, open, and friendly exchanges and questions, the General Secretary promptly informed about some new and core contents of the Party's 14th National Congress documents; at the same time, affirming the very high political determination of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam in successfully achieving the goals of rapid and sustainable development, building a prosperous and happy country, maintaining independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and actively and effectively integrating into the international community.

"Immediately after today's press conference, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department will continue to direct relevant agencies to strengthen information and propaganda work on the 14th Party Congress, ensuring that information is accurate, timely, vivid, and persuasive, contributing to consolidating the people's trust and increasing the understanding and support of international friends for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people," Comrade Trinh Van Quyet emphasized.

The comrade requested that news agencies and the press closely adhere to the guidelines and intensify information and propaganda work on the goals, tasks, solutions, and action programs implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party, conveying the spirit, momentum, and important strategic decisions of the Congress to the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, and international friends, creating consensus and widespread dissemination so that the people understand correctly, have absolute trust, and wholeheartedly support, promoting the strength of national unity and the valuable support of international friends for the cause of building and defending the Vietnamese Fatherland in the new era.
