Vietnam-Korea defense cooperation increasingly practical and effective

At the reception, General Phan Van Giang affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to consolidating and further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Korea; highly appreciated the results of the 11th Vietnam-Korea Defense Policy Dialogue recently held by the two sides.

He emphasized that defense cooperation between the two countries has continued to be strengthened in recent times, with increasingly substantive and effective cooperation results, especially in the following areas: delegation exchanges; education and training; defense industry; military trade; overcoming the consequences of war. Acknowledging the interest and support of Korea in overcoming the consequences of war in Vietnam, especially the project "Mine Action for Vietnam-Korea Peace Village", aiming to clean up areas still contaminated with bombs and mines in Vietnam, Minister of Defense Phan Van Giang hoped that in the coming time, the two sides would continue to promote and actively and effectively implement the cooperation contents agreed upon by the two Heads of the 11th Vietnam-Korea Defense Policy Dialogue.

On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang respectfully invited the Minister, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Korean defense enterprises to Vietnam to attend the second International Defense Exhibition in December 2024.

General Phan Van Giang presented a souvenir to South Korean Deputy Minister of Defense Kim Seon Ho.

For his part, Mr. Kim Seon Ho pledged to fully implement the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of defense cooperation between the two countries ' Defense Ministries and important cooperation contents agreed upon by the two countries' Defense Ministers during General Phan Van Giang's visit to Korea in March 2023.
