"Dedication " - a film exploring the silent achievements of the People's Public Security intelligence force - is currently airing its first episodes. The two episodes that aired on the evening of May 17th marked a new turning point as agent Nguyen Thanh - Part 1 successfully overcame the first hurdle in Laos, finding an opportunity to survive and begin his intelligence mission.

The most interesting aspect of these two episodes is the internal dialogue and mental struggle of Nguyen Thanh himself. In the DNC prison (the combined intelligence agency of the CIA and the Republic of Vietnam), his mind is split in two. The emotional part frankly acknowledges his fear and confusion. The rational part, however, calmly reassures and soothes him.
Facing CIA intelligence or South Vietnamese officers, he handled the situation skillfully, adapting his approach to be flexible or firm, calm or arrogant, humble or self-satisfied.
Hứa Vĩ Văn admitted that the multifaceted nature of the character Nguyễn Thành was what interested him when he took on the role. He also considered it an opportunity to showcase his versatility in acting.

In particular, after performing numerous action scenes in the early episodes, Hua Wei Wen continued to surprise viewers with his skillful rickshaw driving.
Sharing more about the filming process, Hua Wei Wen said that the days of filming on the Vietnam-Laos border (in the Thanh Hoa area) were truly a very arduous journey. The entire crew had to go deep into the forest with treacherous terrain.
According to VTV Ratings statistics, despite being broadcast at a relatively late time (9 PM every Sunday on VTV3), "Tận hiến" (Dedication) is still widely received by viewers, with a current rating of approximately 1.44%.
Notably, the film achieved an average viewership of over 1 million viewers per minute of broadcast, and the average viewing time reached 25 minutes per person per broadcast, demonstrating its ability to retain viewers quite well.

However, limitations in dialogue and subtitles somewhat affect the audience's experience. In many scenes, the actors speak Vietnamese but the subtitles are entirely in Lao, revealing a mismatch between lip movements and sound. The dubbing of Hứa Vĩ Văn's character also somewhat diminishes the persuasiveness of the role.
The film also uses a lot of dialogue in Chinese, English, and French. In these scenes, the Vietnamese subtitles are too short, making it difficult for many viewers, especially older people, to follow.
The series "Dedication" continues to air on VTV3 at 9 PM every Sunday.
