(Dan Tri) - Entering a new era, Hue must have a development orientation to be worthy of its new role and position, one of the six centrally-governed cities of Vietnam.
On the morning of March 26, Hue city held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of liberation (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025) and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Hue City Party Committee (April 1930 - April 2025).

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu affirmed that, historically, Hue is a symbol of patriotism, with heroic spirit, unity, and determination to preserve the country's independence, sovereignty, and unity.
50 years ago, at exactly 6:30 a.m. on March 26, 1975, the "determination to fight, determination to win" flag of our army and people flew on top of Ky Dai - Phu Van Lau, marking a great historical event, Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue city) was completely liberated.
Today, Hue is striving to develop its economy, rising strongly with a new vitality and new spirit. The revival is hard to imagine from a Central region that was difficult during the bombs and bullets.
In particular, from January 1, Hue officially became the 6th centrally-governed city of Vietnam.

The Standing Member of the Secretariat said that the country is facing a historic opportunity to enter a new era, an era of national development. Therefore, the requirements and tasks set for Hue city are increasingly high. The city needs to have a development orientation to be worthy of its new role and position.
The Standing Secretariat requested Hue city to seriously and urgently deploy the arrangement of the political system's apparatus to be "streamlined - compact - strong - effective - efficient - effective" according to the policies, regulations and instructions of the Central Committee; ensure the stability of the new apparatus to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation, and avoid vacancies or work interruptions.
Hue must further promote its potential and advantages, focus on a number of key industries and fields, create momentum for growth; build specific growth scenarios with a breakthrough spirit, focus on removing difficulties, obstacles, and bottlenecks to unlock all resources; create a favorable environment for socio-economic development, striving to achieve a double-digit growth rate in the 2025-2030 period.
The city also needs to care for and comprehensively develop cultural and social fields and improve the material and spiritual life of the people, maintain national defense and security; develop human resources with focus and key points; improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs activities, contributing to enhancing the image of the heritage city.
He asked Hue to focus on Party building and the political system; prepare and organize the 17th Hue City Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

Hue City Party Secretary Le Truong Luu said that after 50 years of liberation, Hue City has achieved many notable achievements. Most of the targets have been achieved and exceeded the set plan, in which the economic growth rate in 2024 reached 8.15%; total state budget revenue reached nearly 13,000 billion VND, approaching the threshold of budget balance.
The city is increasingly affirming its position as a unique cultural and tourism center, specialized healthcare, multi-disciplinary, high-quality education and training center; national defense and security are maintained.
With the efforts and struggles of the entire Party Committee, Hue city was honored twice to be awarded the First Class Independence Medal by the State.
