To view temporary residence information on VNeID, citizens perform the following steps:
Step 1: Log in to your VNeID account

Step 2: Select the information section "Resident information" and enter the password

Step 3: View temporary residence information
In addition, citizens can also view information of other members of the household by selecting “Other members of the household”.

Pursuant to Article 27 and Article 28 of the 2020 Law on Residence, the conditions, records and procedures for temporary residence registration are as follows:
(1) Conditions for temporary residence registration
- Citizens who come to live at a legal residence outside the commune-level administrative unit where they have registered permanent residence to work, study or for other purposes for 30 days or more must register for temporary residence.
- The maximum temporary residence period is 02 years and can be extended multiple times.
- Citizens are not allowed to register new temporary residence at the accommodation specified in Article 23 of the 2020 Law on Residence.
(2) Temporary residence registration documents and procedures
(i) Temporary residence registration documents include:
- Application for change of residence information; for temporary residence registrants who are minors, the application must clearly state the consent of the father, mother or guardian, except in cases where there is already written consent;
- Papers and documents proving legal residence.
(ii) Temporary residents submit temporary residence registration applications to the residence registration agency where they plan to reside.
- Upon receiving temporary residence registration applications, the residence registration authority shall check and issue a receipt to the applicant; if the application is incomplete, the applicant shall be instructed to supplement the application.
- Within 03 working days from the date of receiving a complete and valid dossier, the residence registration agency shall be responsible for appraising and updating information on the new temporary residence and temporary residence period of the registrant in the Residence Database and notifying the registrant of the updated temporary residence registration information; in case of refusal to register, a written response must be given stating the reason.
(iii) Within 15 days before the end of the registered temporary residence period, citizens must complete procedures to extend their temporary residence.
The dossier and procedures for temporary residence extension shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions in clauses (i) and (ii). After reviewing the dossier, the residence registration authority shall be responsible for updating information on the new temporary residence period of the registrant in the Residence Database and notifying the registrant of the updated temporary residence registration information; in case of refusal of registration, a written response must be given stating the reasons.
