Practical activities
MSA YB Co., Ltd., located in Binh Thuan ward, is a company specializing in the production and processing of export garments, employing 1,668 workers. The average income of the workers is approximately 7.5 million VND per person per month, ensuring a basic standard of living.
In May, the atmosphere of labor and production competition at the company became even more vibrant with many activities organized in response to Workers' Month. Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, said: “The Trade Union always acts as a bridge between workers and the company's leadership. Every year, the unit coordinates activities in response to Workers' Month and the Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene to improve the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers. This year, for Workers' Month, the Company's Trade Union organized many practical activities such as a sports competition for workers; awarding 500 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances and those who have performed well; and organizing health check-ups for workers.”
In particular, on this occasion, Mr. Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, visited and presented 100 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances. Receiving the gift from the trade union, Ms. Chuc Thi Duan, a worker at MSA YB Co., Ltd., emotionally shared, “The timely care and encouragement from the trade union at all levels gives me and many other workers more motivation to overcome difficulties, feel secure in our work, and remain committed to the company.”
In addition to caring for the material well-being of workers, trade unions at all levels also focus on healthcare for workers, especially female workers. In response to the 2026 Workers' Month, the Trade Union of Tai Shing Co., Ltd. organized a reproductive health counseling program for 25 pregnant female workers.
During the program, obstetrician Dr. Nong Thi Thu Duyen from Hung Vuong Hospital provided direct advice on many practical topics such as safe pregnancy care, proper nutrition, and important considerations for pregnant women in their work and daily lives. This helped workers address their concerns during pregnancy and work.
Practical activities at the grassroots level continue to affirm the role of trade unions in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
Innovation in content and form
Currently, the province has over 34,500 trade union members, with the majority being direct production workers in enterprises. With a focus on grassroots activities, trade unions at all levels in the province are implementing many practical activities that meet the needs of workers.
Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Union, said: “The 2026 Workers' Month is the first year of implementing a two-tiered local government system, therefore, activities are being given even more attention in terms of innovation in content and form. From May 1st to 31st, the Provincial Labor Union is implementing many programs such as “May Dialogue”, the Forum “Union Members Contribute to Building the Vietnam Trade Union in the New Era”, the “Thank You to Workers” program, and “Trade Union Meal”. Along with that are activities to visit, give gifts, and support union members and workers in difficult circumstances; those who have suffered work accidents, occupational diseases, or serious illnesses; pregnant female workers and those raising young children; workers with reduced working hours or unstable income; and trade union officials affected by organizational restructuring…”
In addition to caring for the material and spiritual well-being of workers, trade unions at all levels have also promoted the emulation movement for excellent and creative labor, encouraging workers to develop initiatives and technical improvements, contributing to increased productivity and production efficiency in enterprises. In 2025 and the first five months of 2026, over 5,150 initiatives and solutions were recognized and implemented, generating a total benefit of over 10.8 billion VND.
A prime example is Mr. Tran Dac Khanh, Deputy Manager of the Lam Binh Antimony Smelting Workshop at Bao Au Joint Stock Company. He participated in proposing and directly implementing the plan to "change the refractory material and wall thickness of the Hecsi furnace, and fabricate on-site the A-shaped cooling water tank system for the Hecsi furnace." The initiative was effectively applied to production, helping the company reduce equipment repair costs by over 427 million VND. Mr. Khanh said: "The encouragement and support from the company and the trade union are the motivation for me to continue researching and innovating, contributing to improving production efficiency."
Workers' Month is not only an occasion to show appreciation to workers but also to spread the spirit of solidarity and innovation among the workforce. The practical activities of the trade union organization are further motivating workers to feel secure and committed to their businesses, to compete in labor and production, and to contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality.
