On April 8, 2024, Comrade Nguyen Van Khai - Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee chaired the Conference to approve the design and construction of construction works in the district. Attending were 02 Vice Chairmen of the District People's Committee Pham Van That and Ha Minh Tuan and leaders of relevant departments and offices.
At the Conference, the consulting unit presented the contents of the construction of the historical and cultural relic site of the late musician Cao Van Lau. The project was surveyed and proposed for construction by former Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh in November 2023 in the campus of the Cultural and Community Learning Center of Thuan My commune, with a total area of 8,639 m², about 150m from the old house of the late musician Cao Van Lau.
The historical and cultural relic site of the late musician Cao Van Lau is designed in the form of a traditional Southern T-shaped house with wooden pillars and tiled roof. Inside, artifacts, images and documents about the artistic life of musician Cao Van Lau and the art of Southern amateur music in his hometown of Chau Thanh, Long An are displayed. In the relic site, trees are arranged to create shade and a square for amateur music activities. The estimated construction cost is 6.5 billion VND from the provincial budget, district budget and social mobilization.
Also at the Conference, delegates contributed ideas to approve the design of the project of Purchasing equipment and repairing district and commune agencies in 2024, including the following items: Prefabricated dining room, kitchen canopy of the District Military Command; Yard, parking lot of the District People's Committee; Headquarters of the Vinh Cong Commune People's Committee./.
