Co To district under curfew from 8pm tonight to avoid storm

To ensure people's safety in the prevention of storm No. 3, Co To district ( Quang Ninh ) issued a curfew from 8:00 p.m. tonight, September 6 until the storm dissipates.

On the afternoon of September 6, information from the People's Committee of Co To district (Quang Ninh) said that storm No. 3 could reach super storm level when it makes landfall in Co To and is likely to cause extremely serious damage and consequences.

Therefore, to ensure the safety of the people, the People's Committee of Co To district will issue a curfew order in commune-level localities in the district, from 8:00 p.m. on September 6 until the storm dissipates.

“Absolutely do not let people go out from 8:00 p.m. on September 6; resolutely evacuate people on cages and aquaculture huts to safe places before 4:00 p.m. on September 6,” the official dispatch of the People's Committee of Co To district clearly stated.

People with fragile houses were evacuated to concentrated storm shelters to ensure safety.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Co To district requested communes, towns, agencies and units to urgently review human resources, materials and means to meet the requirements of storm prevention and control according to the motto "Four on-site"; review areas and vulnerable areas, prepare forces and means to deploy storm prevention and control plans and plans to move people to safety;

The People's Committees of communes and towns direct and guide people to reinforce their houses; review families whose houses are unsafe and at risk of collapse to arrange shelters, ensure minimum living conditions and complete the evacuation of people to safe places and be responsible to the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee.

The People's Committees of communes and towns assign officers to be on duty and control evacuation and storm shelter points; assign leaders, commune officers and armed forces units to be in charge of each village and hamlet;

Direct villages and areas to continue to review each household and the number of people living in level 4 houses (tiled roofs, corrugated iron roofs, Fibro cement...); resolutely relocate 100% of the population in these households to solid, safe houses, to be completed before 8:00 p.m. tonight (September 6).

The District Military Command, the Department of Culture - Information and Tourism, and the People's Committees of communes and towns shall review hotels, schools, and solid headquarters of agencies that are capable of withstanding storms above level 12 in each locality, each village, and each area to develop and issue plans for requisition and arrangement as temporary accommodation for people during the time the storm makes landfall in Co To; ensure food, provisions, and living conditions for the people, determined to avoid human casualties and minimize damage to people's property.
