According to the report; Thach An is a mountainous district with the majority of Tay, Nung, Mong, Dao ethnic groups living in 69 hamlets and villages, mainly farming, people's lives are still difficult, the poverty rate is high. Local authorities and sectors have focused on the task of sustainable poverty reduction close to reality, needs, and urgent need to solve the particularly difficult communes, hamlets, and villages.
The People's Committee of Thach An district issued decisions, plans, and official dispatches to assign tasks, guide and urge departments, offices, communes, and towns to implement the program in a fundamental and methodical manner, and strengthen propaganda to raise awareness for cadres and party members, mobilizing the combined strength of the entire political system to implement sustainable poverty reduction work.

Ms. Nong Thi Chuyen, Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (LĐ-TB&XH) of Thach An district, said: With synchronous efforts, up to now, the area has invested 135 billion VND to implement 7 projects. Especially in particularly difficult communes such as Trong Con, Thuy Hung, Van Trinh, Le Lai, over 109 billion VND has been allocated to invest in 25 projects to build essential infrastructure for rural traffic, irrigation, schools, electricity grid, medical stations, cultural houses, maintenance of civil works...
In addition, the District People's Committee allocated over 9.6 billion VND to invest in 22 projects to diversify livelihoods and develop poverty reduction models from growing black jelly, pear, star anise, high-quality organic tea, and fragrant green squash; 17 models of agricultural production development to improve nutrition such as potatoes, peanuts, beans, sweet corn... "The Department coordinated with departments, branches, communes and towns to review multidimensional poverty, there are 36,000 people in poor households, near-poor households, social protection beneficiaries, students and pupils who benefit from social security policies on health, education, electricity support, policy credit for economic model development, labor, study... Of which, there are more than 2,000 poor households, near-poor households, students and pupils in poor households who have access to loans of more than 130 billion VND of social policy credit capital to invest in suitable livelihood models, go to professional school, learn a trade to create jobs, and export labor", Ms. Nong Thi Chuyen shared.
With joy clearly visible on her face, Ms. Nong Thi Chi, a near-poor household in Doong Leng hamlet, Dong Khe town, Thach An district said: My family has high hilly land suitable for growing star anise and organic tea, but previously had no capital to invest. In 2021, with access to loans, my family invested nearly 1 hectare in growing star anise, organic tea and raising livestock, which has now brought in a stable income.

According to the report, in addition to credit policies, poor and near-poor households have access to other social welfare services. Over 23,000 ethnic minorities in extremely disadvantaged areas, poor households, near-poor households, and social protection beneficiaries have been supported to buy health insurance cards and receive free medical examination and treatment; over 2,600 students have been exempted or reduced from tuition fees and contributions of nearly 1 billion VND. With 7 social security policies delivered to the right addresses and subjects, creating conditions for poor households, near-poor households, and newly escaped poverty households to access basic social services according to the national multidimensional poverty standards, improving the quality of life is a bright spot in the sustainable poverty reduction program in Thach An district.
