It's a rare case of an English teacher correcting a student's exam paper to get a low score.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Nguyen Van Cu Primary School (Gia Lai) has initially identified an English teacher suspected of altering exam papers of many students and has temporarily suspended her from teaching pending an investigation.

On January 24th, the leadership of Nguyen Van Cu Primary School (Quy Nhon Nam ward, Gia Lai province) announced that they have temporarily suspended the teaching duties of Ms. TTKN, an English teacher, to facilitate an investigation into her alleged violations of professional regulations and teacher ethics.

Previously, many parents complained that Ms. N. showed signs of altering exam papers to give students low scores. Many exam papers were tampered with by adding strokes of handwriting or words to the answers, changing the original correct results.

According to Ms. Mac Hoan To Quyen, Principal of Nguyen Van Cu Primary School in Quy Nhon Nam ward, after receiving the complaint, the school established an inspection team.

Initial investigations revealed that 14 parents from class 3C and 5 parents from class 4B complained about the English teacher arbitrarily correcting students' assignments. The school also determined that Ms. N. showed signs of violating regulations.

"The school has temporarily suspended Ms. N. from teaching pending verification and has reported the incident to the People's Committee of the ward," Ms. Quyen said.

According to Ms. Quyen, teacher N. is currently preparing a report. The school also invited 19 parents who had raised concerns to a meeting and has provided initial feedback.

"The school is committed to handling the matter strictly according to regulations, ensuring the rights of the students. On behalf of the teachers, the school representative has offered an apology to the parents," Ms. Quyen said.

According to the school principal, Ms. N. transferred to the school three years ago and there had been no similar incidents recorded before. During the investigation, the teacher showed signs of being psychologically affected and admitted to altering students' assignments, but could not explain why.
