Telling travel stories with light and emotion

The phototour is a program in the coordination plan between Quang Binh province (old) and Vietnam Airlines to promote Quang Binh tourism on media channels of the Vietnam Airlines ecosystem, especially Heritage magazine. The phototour takes place from June 29 to July 3, 2025, bringing together nearly 30 photographers, journalists, writers, travel bloggers (people who are passionate about traveling and share their experiences on different media channels through videos, images and articles) ... from many provinces and cities across the country. This is the first activity in a series of new media events after the province's merger, aiming to reposition the new Quang Tri tourism brand on the Vietnam and international tourism map.

Photographer Le Cao Hai began his review of the phototour ( travel photography) exploring Quang Tri's nature that was recently organized in early July 2025. A short trip but full of emotions, inspiring creativity and opening up many new expectations for Quang Tri tourism .

Meet nature

Nearly 30 photographers, writers, journalists... accompanied each other throughout the phototour program to explore Quang Tri. In addition to their love for the land, they also brought with them the hope that today's photos and reviews will open up many opportunities for Quang Tri tourism to "take off" in the future. Although they have been here many times, for many people it is still like entering a new land with all the curiosity, excitement and respect. And Quang Tri nature has opened its heart, welcoming lenses to tell stories with light and emotions.

During the 5-day journey, the group visited many tourist destinations in Quang Tri, including destinations that have been shaped on the Vietnam tourism map, such as: Phong Nha Cave, Tien Son, Chay River - Dark Cave... Many places are still quite new, stimulating curiosity, exploration and experience. The group started from Dong Chau - Khe Nuoc Trong forest, discovering the interesting things in the middle of the vast wilderness.

There, the light is arbitrary, the weather is unpredictable, the paths are narrow and damp. But in return, every corner of the forest is a never-before-seen scene. The majestic Duong Cam waterfall, the green moss covering the rock crevices or just a streak of light passing through the leaves can all become works of art.

On the Ho Chi Minh Trail, the West Branch, the landscape opens up majestically and endlessly. Photographer Ngo Tran Hai An (Quy Coc Tu) chose the moment when a lonely red car crossed the winding road between two limestone mountains. At that moment, nature and people seemed to blend together. “I like this photo because it is like a premonition. The road soars high, with no end in sight. Nature is overwhelming, and the future is an unknown but full of hope,” he said.

Nhan Trach fish market, Quang Phu sand dunes, Cha Loi cave or spiritual and historical tourist destinations such as Quang Tri Citadel, Vinh Moc tunnels... all bring new emotions to those who have visited here many times. That journey of discovery brings people closer to the inherent beauty, then each person finds a way to tell it in their own language.

“I didn’t expect much other than to find the feeling of “meeting nature for real” but what I got in return was much more than that... And then there were the moments of climbing waterfalls, climbing ropes, crossing streams - the feeling that made adrenaline (a hormone) pump through my body, reminding me: I am alive and alive.”

Touch the depths of emotions

“Although I have been to Quang Tri many times, each trip brings me new emotions, because the land has many hidden beauties that have not been discovered. This phototour is even more special because it coincides with the merger of the two localities of Quang Binh and Quang Tri (old)... The greatest success of the trip, in my opinion, is that it has inspired strong creative inspiration for photographers, writers, and journalists,” said Ms. Tran Thi Mai Anh, Head of the Heritage Editorial Board.

The inspiration for this composition comes from the real thing: the real in space, in people and in every moment. That is when catching the light passing through stalactites, creeping into the foliage of Dong Chau forest or reflecting in the eyes of animals being raised at the Rescue, Conservation and Development Center for Organisms of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park... Those moments really touch the emotions of the group members.

Every sunset by the Son River, every early morning at Nhan Trach fishing village or when sitting together fixing lenses under the forest canopy, no one in the group is a tourist anymore, but becomes a companion with nature. Technical exchanges, sharing behind-the-scenes work or simply looking at each other with appreciation after a successful shot, all create a very unique connection of a specialized creative program. A creative community formed from the love of nature and respect for beauty.

More than a trip

The photo tour to explore Quang Tri does not stop at personal experiences. It is a link in the strategic promotion campaign between Quang Binh province (old) and Vietnam Airlines, with the goal of spreading the image of local tourism on modern media. After the trip, hundreds of photos will be selected, appearing in Heritage publications distributed on all flights, and spreading through Vietnam Airlines' digital ecosystem and social networks. Emotional frames, little-known behind-the-scenes stories will contribute to redrawing the tourism map of Central Vietnam with a new, more vivid and closer perspective.

“Touching memories - Awakening nature” is the theme of the phototour exploring Quang Tri land, with the expectation of activating new tourism products, connecting nature with cultural and historical destinations. Each story told with real images and emotions will be the most sincere invitation to visitors.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Mai Anh, in the near future, Heritage plans to continue to coordinate and organize photo tours at other destinations in Quang Tri to create strategic, in-depth content that closely follows the changes of each land. Heritage will also have more quality articles and photo collections, contributing to more widely promoting new Quang Tri tourism - a heritage site that is strongly transforming on the map of Vietnam tourism.

With the strength of possessing unique natural and historical heritage, the tourism ecosystem of Quang Tri province is in need of renewal, needs to be told in a more attractive and vivid language. Top photographers, when they have quality frames from their own personal experiences, will become the most effective, authentic and convincing media ambassadors.

With the advantage of diverse terrain, rich historical heritage and increasingly complete infrastructure network, Quang Tri has a lot of room to make a breakthrough. Photographer Ngo Quang Minh commented: “Previously, we had cave tourism, now we have spiritual and historical tourism. All of this is opening up opportunities to shape a new tourism brand for Quang Tri.”
