Kenny G's second visit to Vietnam since his hugely successful 2015 tour.

He returned to Hanoi after 8 years as the opening artist for the "Good Morning Vietnam" project series co-organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group, which will take place at the My Dinh National Convention Center for one night only on November 14.

Despite having just experienced a long flight, Kenny G still smiled brightly and waved friendly to fans when he landed at Noi Bai airport.

Because he loves Vietnamese cuisine and scenery , the male artist previously expressed his desire to eat bun cha during his upcoming stay in Vietnam. The famous saxophone artist's eating habits are also given special attention by the organizers and carefully prepared with a diverse menu, approved in advance by Kenny G's manager.

Because Kenny G was very impressed with bun cha during his first performance in Vietnam, this time the artist wanted to enjoy it again.

However, to ensure safety, Kenny G will not eat out but the organizers will book a hotel specifically for the artist.

Kenny G came to Vietnam with 6 band members and 10 crew members.

Welcoming Kenny G was Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong - Chairman of IB Group Vietnam, Program Production Director and the organizing committee (OC) team.

During their stay in Hanoi, the group will stay at a 5-star hotel near the performance venue. Kenny G will stay in the Presidential Suite, which costs thousands of dollars and is usually reserved for heads of state, celebrities, and the super-rich. Kenny G's entire group will be insured by an international company.

Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong - Chairman of IB Group Vietnam - Production Director of Kenny G Live In Vietnam program - revealed that Kenny G's side gave a list of nearly 60 pages to the Organizing Committee in Vietnam, including detailed requirements related to accommodation, travel, sound and stage technical equipment, to ensure the quality of the show as well as the satisfaction of the artists.

Kenny G's schedule is kept confidential. He travels in a luxury car with a private driver who is knowledgeable about culture and cuisine and can answer all of Kenny G's questions in English.

Kenny G kept the same technical requirements set 8 years ago when coming to Vietnam to perform.

However, some BTC equipment had to be ordered from overseas to meet Kenny G's very high requirements for sound and instruments to harmonize with the 63-year-old artist's saxophones.

Therefore, the organizers rented two Yamaha PM5DRH version 2.25 mixers (sound control systems) in Japan many months ago, 1 for the band, 1 for the audience - with a rental price of more than 30,000 USD.

The percussion set is the LP Galaxy, made mostly of wood and capable of producing a warm, authentic sound, specialized for Latin and R&B music, with a rental price equivalent to a mixer.

The drum set of the Yamaha "Phoenix" series was purchased by the Organizing Committee from the US for about 30,000 USD.

In addition, Kenny G requested a Yamaha C7 piano with cables and a power supply of his own choosing. Kenny G also requested a Hercules stand and stand specifically for his two Selmer Mark VI trumpets.

Along with that, before coming to Vietnam, Kenny G's side sent detailed diagrams of the stage setup and podium construction, which had to be accurate to the centimeter.

Before the show, Kenny G's manager will conduct a check to ensure the concert goes perfectly according to the artist's requirements and meets international standards with perfect sound.

The part that Vietnamese audiences are most looking forward to is which songs Kenny G will choose to play in this comeback. The organizers said that the artist actively chose the songs. These are Kenny G's famous songs such as: Going Home, The Joy of Life, Forever in Love, Sentimental, By the Time This Night Is Over, Songbird, Havana, The Moment, My Heart Will Go On... but completely renewed by the artist.

In addition, the audience will enjoy a familiar folk song for the first time through Kenny G's legendary trumpet. The organizers have suggested the songs: Trong com, Beo dat may troi, Nguoi oi nguoi o dung ve for Kenny G to arrange into smooth jazz.

However, which song the artist will choose to play is still a secret to surprise Vietnamese audiences on the night of November 14.

The organizers revealed that Kenny G will not only play music, but will also donate a saxophone that has been with him to auction to raise funds when he learned that the purpose of the program is charity. All proceeds will be donated by Nhan Dan Newspaper to funds to support people in difficult circumstances, especially children.
