Specifically, from November 7, immediately after receiving information reflecting the suspected food poisoning incident related to Co Bich Toad Bread establishment (Hanh Thong Ward), the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety coordinated with relevant agencies to carry out verification, investigation of the cause and handling according to Decision No. 39/2006/QD-BYT on "Regulations on investigation of food poisoning".

Investigate food processing and trading conditions at Co Bich Toad Bread facility (including checking legal documents, origin of raw materials, facilities, equipment and people involved in food processing and trading).

Based on the results of epidemiological investigation, analytical data, results of testing specimens and expert opinions from units (Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Public Health , Department of Health and related hospitals), the Department of Food Safety concluded that this was a case of food poisoning caused by Ms. Bich's toad bread establishment, with the agent being bread contaminated with Salmonella bacteria.

The Department of Food Safety said it will continue to handle the facility causing food poisoning in accordance with regulations.
At the same time, the Department continues to strengthen propaganda and guide food businesses to strictly implement food safety conditions, control the origin of raw materials, hygiene in preliminary processing, processing, transportation, 3-step food inspection, and keep food samples to prevent poisoning.
