The Forum was attended by about 300 delegates, including: Vietnamese representative agencies in Thailand and Laos; Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee; Deputy Governor of Udon Thani Province; Chairman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (NVNONN) of Ho Chi Minh City; Association of Overseas Vietnamese Entrepreneurs and representatives of Vietnamese organizations and businesses from 10 countries, including Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Canada, Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Korea and Vietnam.
Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Mr. Ho Van Lam, Chairman of the Thai - Vietnamese Business Association, said that the 2023 Thai - Vietnamese - Lao - Cambodian - Myanmar Overseas Vietnamese Business Forum was held to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership and the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.
The event is organized with the desire to create a space for Vietnamese businessmen abroad to exhibit products, promote trade, share experiences, connect and form a network of links between Vietnamese businesses and businessmen in other countries.
This is also an opportunity to seek investment and business opportunities, contributing to promoting and boosting the export of Vietnamese goods abroad, while strengthening friendly cooperation between Vietnam and other countries.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh suggested that Vietnamese enterprises take advantage of the Forum to exchange and find solutions to establish and strengthen the network of Vietnamese enterprises in the five countries, helping each other to seek investment opportunities, improve business efficiency, and develop sustainably in areas such as innovation, science and technology, start-ups, developing Vietnamese brands abroad, and at the same time connecting and attracting foreign enterprises to Vietnam.
On behalf of the Udon Thani provincial government, Deputy Governor Khanitha Ratnui emphasized that Udon Thani is one of the economic and cultural centers of the Northeast region of Thailand, with a convenient transportation system connecting with countries in the Mekong sub-region.
She appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community to the locality and affirmed that the Province always welcomes and creates favorable conditions for businesses to come and do business in Udon Thani.
Speaking at the Forum, Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong highly appreciated that this Forum continued the success of the 2022 Forum, expanding the scale of organization with practical, effective and rich forms and contents of exchange and connection.
According to preliminary statistics, there are currently nearly 400 investment projects of overseas Vietnamese returning to the country with a registered capital of about 1.72 billion USD and according to the World Bank, remittances sent back to the country in 2022 will be 18.1 billion USD, accounting for about 5% of GDP.
Many Vietnamese businesses and associations around the world have been actively contributing to introducing Vietnamese goods to international friends, and at the same time serving as a bridge to connect and introduce foreign businesses and multinational companies to Vietnam to seek opportunities for investment, production and business cooperation.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong emphasized that the success of the NVNONN business community will contribute to strengthening the country's position, and vice versa, the country's position is a solid foundation for the community to continue to integrate and develop locally.
He hopes that people will continue to participate and call on other businesses to introduce, consume products and develop distribution channels for Vietnamese goods abroad, hoping that the Thai - Vietnamese Business Association will continue to promote its strengths and become a model for other Associations to learn from.
The forum with its exchange and discussion sessions recorded many enthusiastic contributions; businesses in different industries and fields such as trade, high-tech agriculture, culture, tourism and services, import and export of goods, logistics, brand promotion, etc. had the opportunity to connect with each other, sign many MOUs on cooperation, thereby creating the premise for more extensive cooperation in the future.
