Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Mr. Ho Van Lam, Chairman of the Thai - Vietnamese Business Association, said that the 2023 Thai - Vietnamese - Lao - Cambodian - Myanmar Overseas Vietnamese Business Forum was held to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership and the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.

The event is organized with the desire to create a space for Vietnamese businessmen abroad to exhibit products, promote trade, share experiences, connect and form a network of links between Vietnamese businesses and businessmen in other countries.

This is also an opportunity to seek investment and business opportunities, contributing to promoting and boosting the export of Vietnamese goods abroad, while strengthening friendly cooperation between Vietnam and other countries.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh suggested that Vietnamese enterprises take advantage of the Forum to exchange and find solutions to establish and strengthen the network of Vietnamese enterprises in the five countries, helping each other to seek investment opportunities, improve business efficiency, and develop sustainably in areas such as innovation, science and technology, start-ups, developing Vietnamese brands abroad, and at the same time connecting and attracting foreign enterprises to Vietnam.

On behalf of the Udon Thani provincial government, Deputy Governor Khanitha Ratnui emphasized that Udon Thani is one of the economic and cultural centers of the Northeast region of Thailand, with a convenient transportation system connecting with countries in the Mekong sub-region.

She appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community to the locality and affirmed that the Province always welcomes and creates favorable conditions for businesses to come and do business in Udon Thani.

Speaking at the Forum, Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong highly appreciated that this Forum continued the success of the 2022 Forum, expanding the scale of organization with practical, effective and rich forms and contents of exchange and connection.

According to preliminary statistics, there are currently nearly 400 investment projects of overseas Vietnamese returning to the country with a registered capital of about 1.72 billion USD and according to the World Bank, remittances sent back to the country in 2022 will be 18.1 billion USD, accounting for about 5% of GDP.

Many Vietnamese businesses and associations around the world have been actively contributing to introducing Vietnamese goods to international friends, and at the same time serving as a bridge to connect and introduce foreign businesses and multinational companies to Vietnam to seek opportunities for investment, production and business cooperation.
