According to a VNA reporter in Cambodia, the Cambodia-Vietnam business dialogue program in the Northwest region of Cambodia took place under the chairmanship of Vietnamese Consul General in Battambang province Tran Tuan Anh and attracted the participation of Vietnamese businesses wishing to cooperate and invest with local businesses in the Northwest provinces of Cambodia.
Speaking at the seminar, Consul General Tran Tuan Anh said the goal of the seminar was to connect substantially, promote economic , trade and investment cooperation, as well as listen directly to the opinions of businesses from both sides, with a special focus on the 7 Northwestern provinces of Cambodia - an area with great potential in agriculture, tourism, services and domestic trade, and also an area that plays an important role in Cambodia's economic network.
According to Consul General Tran Tuan Anh, in the context of many fluctuations in the regional and global economy, businesses of the two countries still maintain a stable pace of cooperation. This is a positive signal, demonstrating the initiative, adaptability and long-term cooperation spirit of the Vietnamese and Cambodian business communities. However, it is also necessary to clearly recognize that businesses of both sides still face many barriers in terms of transportation costs, standardization of goods, procedures, as well as the need for direct support from local authorities.
The Vietnamese Consul General in Battambang province emphasized that the seminar was organized to have a frank dialogue, update accurate information and agree on solutions, and identify three priorities in the coming period: Promoting practical economic diplomacy , close to the needs of businesses in the 7 northwestern provinces of Cambodia; connecting information, connecting the government and businesses, as well as promoting new cooperation channels; focusing on areas with room for growth such as agricultural trade, tourism-services, production-processing and logistics.

At the seminar, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province Yun Linne assessed that this business forum took place in a favorable context when economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and Cambodia are growing strongly, with two-way trade turnover increasing sharply in recent times. Vietnam is an important trade partner of Cambodia, while investment opportunities in Cambodia are increasingly expanded and developed thanks to the new investment law and preferential business environment.
Believing that this forum will be an important platform for promoting and connecting, expanding priority industries with high potential, as well as finding solutions to overcome barriers, the Deputy Governor of Siem Reap province called on businesses and investors to seize the opportunity to improve their business systems, exchange experiences and seek opportunities and new partnerships, thereby contributing to economic growth, stable and long-term development and strengthening the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Introducing the potential of the 7 northwestern provinces of Cambodia, Chairman of the Vietnam-Cambodia Business Association (VCBA) Oknha Leng Rithy affirmed that the northwestern region of the country has a complementary economic structure. Each locality plays a specialized role, with Siem Reap province as a gateway for tourism and high-quality services; Battambang province as an agricultural and processing center; Banteay Meanchey province as a border trade and industrial hub; Oddar Meanchey province for new agricultural and eco-tourism development; Pailin province with high-quality agricultural potential and exploitation; and Preah Vihear province with heritage tourism potential and sustainable agricultural development.
To attract more investment capital from Vietnamese enterprises to the Northwest region in general and key provinces in particular, the Chairman of VCBA made a number of key proposals, including improving the legal and administrative environment, developing strategic infrastructure, along with preferential policies and support for key areas.

In particular, Mr. Oknha Leng Rithy called on the Cambodian Government to support and create conditions for the Vietnamese-Cambodian community to continue to contribute to the local economy in a formal and sustainable manner, emphasizing that this will strengthen the confidence of Vietnamese investors. On behalf of VCBA, he expressed his belief that with the support of the Cambodian Government, along with its natural potential and strategic location, the Northwest region will become an attractive investment destination, contributing to strengthening the sustainable and prosperous neighborly economic relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Speaking to VNA reporters, Mr. Tip Piseth, head of the Planning and Investment Department under the Siem Reap provincial government, said that with its strengths in agriculture and fertile land, and its location near the Tonle Sap Lake, the province offers potential for Vietnamese investors in the agricultural and food processing industries. Vietnamese businesses can take advantage of their strengths in high-value agriculture and food processing to serve the growing tourism industry of Siem Reap province as well as surrounding provinces and export abroad.
In addition, with the roadmap towards becoming a "Smart City", Mr. Tip Piseth also pointed out the investment potential for Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of digital technology and real estate in Siem Reap province, helping the province quickly realize this plan.

The business discussion took place with substantive and focused exchanges and provided a lot of important information. The opinions of businesses pointed out specific issues, from the provincial investment environment to logistics, commodity standards, as well as the need for market connection. Businesses actively participated in the discussion sessions to share experiences, seek opportunities for cooperation, investment, and connection between businesses of both sides.
Through expert opinions and practical experiences from delegates, the discussion provided valuable suggestions, contributing to supporting businesses in building effective strategies and improving adaptability and deep, substantive cooperation.
