Connecting Thailand in Hung Yen 2025 - a real opportunity for business connection

On July 16, in Hung Yen, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Thai Embassy in Vietnam and Hung Yen province to organize the Business Forum "Thailand Connection in Hung Yen 2025".

Hung Yen Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia, Thai Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy Le Thi Hong Van took a group photo with delegates attending the Business Forum "Connecting Thailand in Hung Yen".

Attending the Forum were Hung Yen Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia, Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy - Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Hong Van, along with the Standing Committee of Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the province, departments, branches and sectors of 10 northern localities and more than 200 representatives of domestic and Thai enterprises.

This forum continues the success of the “Meeting Thailand” series of events, realizing the commitment between the senior leaders of Vietnam and Thailand in May this year after the two countries upgraded their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, focusing on implementing the “Three Connections” Strategy including: Connecting supply chains; connecting businesses and localities of the two countries; connecting sustainable growth strategies.

Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya delivered the opening speech at the Business Forum “Connecting Thailand in Hung Yen”.

In his opening remarks, Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya highly appreciated the development potential, strategic location and favorable investment environment of Hung Yen, a locality that stands out in the fields of processing and manufacturing, logistics and high-tech agriculture. In the context of the two economies developing strongly, the Ambassador emphasized the need to promote cooperation in new areas such as small and medium enterprises, startups, digital economy, green industry and smart agriculture.

The Ambassador said that local-level cooperation is an important pillar in bilateral relations, and highly appreciated cultural and people-to-people exchange activities such as Thailand Week, Thai Connect Expo, and traditional food and product booths, thereby enhancing understanding and connection between the two peoples.

Speaking at the Forum, Hung Yen Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia said: “With the motto of action: Open institutions, smooth infrastructure, smart governance, Hung Yen is determined to become a safe and effective destination, bringing long-term benefits to businesses and people”.

Speaking at the Forum, Party Central Committee member and Hung Yen Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia emphasized that choosing Hung Yen as the venue for the program demonstrates the interest of central ministries, branches and international partners, especially Thailand, in the province's increasingly prominent role in the regional cooperation network.

The Provincial Party Secretary said that the Forum not only contributes to effectively implementing the policy of enhancing foreign economic cooperation, but also opens up opportunities for substantial connections between businesses of the two countries in potential areas such as processing and manufacturing industry, logistics, trade, high-tech agriculture, culture and tourism. The province is committed to building an open and stable investment environment, accompanying businesses, taking digital transformation, innovation and green development as the foundation.

At the Forum, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy - Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Hong Van shared that the Vietnamese Government is resolutely implementing the "Four Pillars" according to the Politburo Resolution including: Promoting science - technology and innovation; proactively integrating deeply into the international community; strongly developing the private economy; comprehensively innovating the work of building and enforcing laws.

At the Forum, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy - Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Hong Van affirmed that the Vietnam-Thailand friendship is an extremely valuable asset of the two nations, the first bricks of which were laid by the great President Ho Chi Minh. The Vietnam-Thailand relationship is developing strongly and substantially in all fields. Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trade partner and second largest foreign investor in ASEAN, with more than 20 pairs of twinned localities.

The Director said that 2025 marks the second time Hung Yen province has coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize a large-scale foreign affairs event, demonstrating the province's spirit of proactive international integration and strong development aspirations.

Director Le Thi Hong Van emphasized that the event is even more meaningful in the context of the whole country rearranging administrative units and local government models, opening up new development space for localities. She affirmed that with the existing potential and advantages of Hung Yen and other localities in the Northern region, many opportunities for international cooperation, investment, trade and tourism will open up in the coming time.

The success of the Forum “Thailand Connection in Hung Yen 2025” affirms the important role of local-enterprise cooperation in promoting the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, contributing to enhancing understanding, trust and sustainable cooperation between the two countries.

According to Ms. Le Thi Hong Van, the Vietnamese Government is resolutely implementing the "Quad Pillars" according to the Politburo Resolution; committing to creating an open and transparent investment environment, creating favorable conditions, actively supporting the resolution of difficulties for foreign enterprises, including Thai enterprises, to invest stably and long-term in Vietnam, in the spirit of "three together" that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed: "Listening and understanding between enterprises, the State and the people; sharing vision and action for economic development in general and green development in particular; working together, enjoying together, winning together and developing together".

Within the framework of the program, many meaningful activities took place such as: Opening of GO! Hung Yen Trade Center and Thailand Week; Thai Connect Expo with more than 30 Thai enterprises; Business Forum with a discussion session on "Connecting Vietnam-Thailand supply chains".
