In the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution reshaping the global economy , taking advantage of overseas intellectual resources has become a key factor to help Vietnam catch up with the trend. The event "Connecting Science and Technology between Vietnamese experts abroad and domestic enterprises" held in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of November 27 is not only a forum for professional exchange, but also a clear demonstration of the common aspiration: to build a self-sufficient and sustainable technology platform.

The event, part of the Autumn Economic Forum 2025, focused on three strategic pillars: sovereign AI infrastructure, semiconductor industry and green materials. These are all key areas that will determine the country's competitiveness in the next decade. Here, the issue of digital sovereignty and data security was put at the forefront.

In particular, Mr. Thao Nguyen, Founder and General Director of TORmem Company (USA), with more than 40 years of experience in Silicon Valley, introduced a breakthrough solution: Memory-Centric Data Centers - a "Made in Vietnam" product capable of saving up to 50% of total cost of ownership compared to the imported model. This solution is not only optimized for AI processing but also retains economic value right in Vietnam, creating a solid foundation for the domestic digital technology industry.

Besides cyberspace, Sustainable Development is an indispensable piece of the puzzle. Associate Professor Dr. Hai Minh Duong from the National University of Singapore has brought an impressive green technology solution: super-light Aerogel material produced from waste plastic at a cost of only 1.5 USD/kg. This technology not only solves the problem of environmental pollution but also opens up opportunities to commercialize high-tech products such as fireproof clothing or soundproofing materials.

This event has vividly demonstrated that connecting global intellectuals is not a slogan, but a specific and effective strategy. Through the practical contributions of overseas experts, Vietnam is gradually narrowing the technology gap, building an innovation ecosystem and, most importantly, preparing for a future of technological autonomy, towards sustainable development./.
