On the morning of July 19, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training informed that all four students, HGB, HYM, HTP, and YHN, of Cao Ba Quat High School, who were recommended by the school to reserve their study results, had passed the high school graduation exam in 2025.

Accordingly, the graduation exam scores of the 4 students are as follows: HGB got 18.35 points; YHN got 18.25 points; YHN got 12.5 points and HTP got 11.5 points.

Dak Lak Department of Education and Training also said that the high school graduation rate in 2025 in this locality reached 98.34% (excluding re-examinations). Cao Ba Quat High School alone had a 100% graduation rate.

Previously, in April 2025, the parents of the four students were invited to a meeting with the school. After the meeting, these students wrote a letter of request to leave school or reserve their results as “suggested” by the school.

After the incident was reported, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee assigned the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training to investigate and discovered many violations in this incident.

The Dak Lak Department of Education and Training confirmed that there is no regulation on retaining students' academic results. The homeroom teacher's advice to students to write a request to retain their academic results is not in accordance with regulations. This reservation request has confirmation from the homeroom teacher and the principal, which is also not in accordance with regulations.

Therefore, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training concluded that the homeroom teacher and principal both have related responsibilities in this incident.

The four students were then given the opportunity to return to class, continue studying, take exams, and all passed the high school graduation exam.

Currently, the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Education is continuing to clarify the responsibilities of related leaders and teachers to handle according to regulations.

Initial verification results of the case of a series of students asking to leave school before the high school graduation exam On the afternoon of May 12, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province said it had sent a report on the initial verification results of the case of a series of 12th grade students of Cao Ba Quat High School asking to leave school and reserve their study results before the high school graduation exam.
