With an even force in all events, Hanoi archers showed their superiority when winning a total of 42 medals, including 16 gold medals out of a total of 32 sets of medals.
The organizers awarded prizes to the teams with high achievements.
Specifically, Hanoi archers won 16 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 14 bronze medals, ranking first overall and far ahead of the rest. Coming in second place was Vinh Long with 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 6 bronze medals, while the host Ba Ria - Vung Tau ranked third with 5 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. Following in order were Quang Ninh (3, 3, 2), Dak Lak (2, 3, 3), Vinh Phuc (2, 2, 2), Ho Chi Minh City (1, 3, 2), etc. The tournament also witnessed 2 national records set by 1 archer from Quang Ninh and 1 archer from the host Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
The 2023 National Archery Championship is organized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, competing from April 20 to 26. The tournament has more than 180 athletes from 18 provinces and cities nationwide. At the tournament, archers compete in 1-string and 3-string bows with the following categories: All-around (50mx2 and 70mx2); individual: 30m, 50m, 60m, 70m and 90m; men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's team, women's team and men's and women's team.
The organizers said that this is one of four important tournaments in the national archery competition system. The tournament is organized to maintain and develop archery in localities and throughout the country. This is also a playground for athletes to compete, learn experience and improve their skills, thereby selecting outstanding faces to continue to be nurtured, trained and added to the national archery team to compete in major regional and international tournaments.
