End of inland waterway traffic restrictions after storm and flood period

The Director of the Northern Maritime and Waterways Sub-Department (Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration) has announced the end of the restriction on national inland waterway traffic on the Huong River, Thu Bon River (including Hoi An River), and Han - Vinh Dien River.

Previously, due to the complicated flood situation in the Central region, from 10:00 p.m. on October 28, the Northern Maritime and Waterways Department announced a ban on all watercraft traveling on the national inland waterways of the Huong River, Thu Bon River (including Hoi An River) and the Han - Vinh Dien River (from Km 0+000 to Km 31+700).

Except for water vehicles performing tasks of national security and defense, natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, traffic regulation, anti-collision, and traffic safety guidance.

The Northern Maritime and Waterways Department requires captains and drivers of watercraft when traveling on the above-mentioned national inland waterways to absolutely follow the instructions of competent authorities, regulatory and control forces to ensure traffic safety, be on standby to prevent drifting on inland waterways and the inland waterway signaling system installed on the route.

In addition, the Law on Inland Waterway Traffic must be strictly complied with.
