Visitors line up to buy tickets to enter the Trang An eco -tourism area, 9 am on May 1st. |
On the morning of May 1st, the Trang An eco-tourism area in Ninh Binh province recorded a sudden surge in visitors during the peak of the April 30th - May 1st holiday. From early morning, crowds flocked to the boat dock area, forming long queues from the ticket booth to the gate.
Observations at the boat dock revealed that many tourists had to wait a long time in the hot weather. Long queues formed, and the ticket purchasing and boarding areas were at times extremely crowded. Some tourists, after waiting too long, decided to leave or change their sightseeing plans.
Speaking to Tri Thức - Znews on May 1st , the Trang An Heritage Management Board stated that the large number of visitors in the morning could lead to long waiting times at the boat dock. The unit recommended that tourists consider visiting in the afternoon of May 1st for a smoother trip.
According to the management, the heritage site does not set a fixed number of tickets sold each day. However, based on the actual situation at the dock, the number of waiting passengers, the ability to coordinate boats, and the operating capacity, the unit will proactively adjust to avoid overcrowding.

The waiting area for boat tickets was packed with customers on the morning of May 1st. |
"When the number of visitors reaches a point that could affect the visiting experience, the management board will temporarily stop selling tickets or recommend that visitors switch to another time slot. We are not aiming for a massive ticket sales target, but rather prioritizing a smooth journey for visitors who have already purchased tickets, while also avoiding long waits for those who arrive later," a representative of the Trang An Heritage Management Board shared.
The unit stated that on the afternoon of May 1st, Trang An is expected to continue welcoming a very large number of visitors. Adjusting the visiting hours will help tourists have a more comfortable experience, while also reducing pressure on the boat dock area during peak hours.
Given that the Trang An experience relies heavily on boats, tour routes, and travel time on the river, cramming too many tourists into the same time slot can easily lead to long waiting times and reduce the quality of the trip.
