International visitors to Vietnam increased by more than 64% over the same period last year.

Information from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on May 31 said that the number of international tourists to Vietnam in May 2024 reached 1,383,703 arrivals, down 11.1% compared to April 2024, up 51.0% over the same period in 2023.

Total international arrivals in the first 5 months of 2024 reached 7,583,034, an increase of 64.9% over the same period in 2023.

The largest international tourist markets include: China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, USA, Cambodia, India, Thailand, Australia, Malaysia.

Compared to April 2024, the Lao market increased by 1.7% and Africa increased by 8%. Meanwhile, other markets all had a decrease in the number of visitors.

Specifically: Denmark (down 56%), Norway (down 55%), Germany (down 44%), UK (down 43%), Belgium (down 42%), Sweden (down 42%), Switzerland (down 38%), New Zealand (down 32%), Australia (down 30%), USA (down 30%), Poland (down 26%), Thailand (down 25%), France (down 24%), Canada (down 22%), South Korea (down 5%)...

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the number of domestic tourists in May 2024 is estimated at about 12 million, of which about 8 million are staying. The cumulative number of domestic tourists in the first 5 months of 2024 is estimated at about 52.5 million.

Total revenue from tourists in the first 5 months of the year is estimated at 352.2 trillion VND.
