The rainy season in Pu Luong Nature Reserve (Thanh Hoa) is becoming a popular destination for many international tourists thanks to its rare, pristine, and peaceful beauty.

The terraced rice fields of Pu Luong, shimmering like mirrors amidst the mountains during the water-filling season, leave many foreign tourists in awe, constantly stopping to take photos and videos, preserving this special moment of the region.

In the final days of the lunar year, people in the villages of Pu Luong begin to channel water to their rice paddies in preparation for planting. Viewed from above, the rice paddies curve gently along the mountain slopes, reflecting the sky, white clouds, and glimpses of low-lying stilt houses, creating a scene that is both majestic and poetic.

Many international tourists, visiting for the first time, have expressed their delight. Many spend hours walking through the villages, following trails on the mountainside, searching for the perfect spots for photos.

"I've been to many terraced rice fields in Asia, but Pu Luong gives me a very different feeling. Everything is still pristine, the people are friendly, and the scenery is truly impressive," shared a tourist from France.

According to homestay owners in Pu Luong, the number of foreign tourists staying during the rice planting season has increased significantly compared to previous months. Tourists mainly come from Europe, the US, and Australia. They prefer experiences such as hiking through villages, admiring terraced rice fields, and learning about the cultural life of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups.

Besides taking photos, many tourists enthusiastically participate in activities with the local people such as scooping water, planting rice, cooking bamboo rice, and weaving brocade. These experiences help them better understand the slow-paced, nature-connected lifestyle of the highlands of Thanh Hoa province.

The water-filling season usually lasts for a whole month, and this is when the terraced rice fields are at their most beautiful. This is also considered the "golden season" for promoting the image of Pu Luong tourism to the world .

Local tourism businesses say that, in addition to developing services, Pu Luong is focusing on preserving the landscape and local culture, aiming for sustainable tourism. The harmony between nature, people, and traditional life has created a unique appeal, making Pu Luong increasingly memorable for international tourists.
