
On November 1, at the Cultural and Art Exhibition Center (No. 22, Hang Buom Street, Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi), the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the French Institute in Hanoi and the UNESCO Office in Vietnam organized the opening ceremony of the Photo Hanoi '25 International Photography Biennale.
The event aims to celebrate photography as a universal language of humanity and a powerful way to see, feel and connect.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Bach Lien Huong said that the Photo Hanoi '25 - International Photography Biennale event is an opportunity for the public, photography lovers, especially young people, to experience and practice photography, to approach new and attractive perspectives on contemporary photography in Vietnam and internationally; contributing to introducing and promoting the image of the country and people of the Capital through the perspective of photography, creating a large, lively and deeply impressive international photography art and culture festival space in the Capital.
Ms. Bach Lien Huong emphasized that Hanoi always attaches importance to promoting cultural exchange activities between Hanoi and the French Republic in particular and other countries and international organizations; at the same time, continuing to strengthen cooperation between the parties to actively contribute to promoting exchange relations, as well as tightening solidarity and friendship between the Government and people of Vietnam with countries in the region and the world .

Photo Hanoi '25 International Photography Biennale is a large-scale photography event, marking Hanoi's presence on the international photography map with the participation of more than 170 artists, photographers, curators and experts from 21 countries, along with 25 professional organizations.
Within the framework of the event, there are 22 exhibitions and displays and 29 sideline activities such as talks, book launches, film screenings, art tours and photography experiences taking place at 20 cultural spaces in the capital.
In particular, the series of workshops, seminars, art tours and portfolio reviews (professional photography consulting sessions) bring practical value, especially to young photographers in their journey to build their career, affirm their name and gradually reach out to regional and international markets.

Photo Hanoi '25 takes place at many different locations such as: Exhibition House 45 Trang Tien, 93 Dinh Tien Hoang, Cultural and Art Center 22 Hang Buom, No. 2 Le Thai To, 49 Tran Hung Dao, French Institute Vietnam, Japan Foundation, Casa Italia, Complex 01, Long Bien Art Space, Matca, S+ Six Senses Space, Chau & Co gallery... and public spaces such as Dien Hong flower garden, the space around Hoan Kiem Lake, the wall of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic site, or the facade of the French Embassy...
The activities will take place throughout November. The 22 Hang Buom Cultural and Art Center is the venue for the exhibition “Reminiscences of Cities”. The exhibition brings together 30 talented Vietnamese and international photographers and visual artists.
