Opening of the 2024 City Swimming and Rescue Competition for Children and Youth

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of August 12, the Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the City Water Sports Federation to organize the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Swimming Tournament for Youth, Children and Drowning Prevention and Control for Children in the City. Attending the opening ceremony were Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam; leaders of relevant Departments, Boards, sectors and units; and 25 Delegations with 375 participating athletes.

The 2024 City Swimming and Drowning Prevention and Control Competition for Children will be held from August 12-14, 2024 at Ben Binh Swimming Pool (No. 1 Nguyen Thuong Hien, Minh Khai Ward, Hong Bang District, Hai Phong City).

Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Hoang Mai delivered the opening speech of the Tournament.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Hoang Mai emphasized that the 2024 City Swimming Tournament for Youth, Children and Swimming for Drowning Prevention and Control of Accidents and Injuries for Children is a prestigious tournament with many years of tradition. Through the tournament, it aims to create a healthy playground and a profound change in the awareness of all levels, sectors and the whole society about the benefits and roles of physical education and sports in general and swimming practice in particular. At the same time, it contributes to promoting information, propaganda, education, mobilizing families, schools, communities and society to raise awareness, knowledge and skills to prevent and control drowning for children, minimizing drowning accidents. To ensure the success of the tournament, the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports requested that the referees conduct the tournament objectively and in accordance with the law, and that the athletes compete with a spirit of solidarity, honesty, nobility, progress, and compliance with the regulations and rules of the tournament.

Competition content: Swimming for children and teenagers and Swimming for drowning prevention and injury prevention for children.
