Opening of the International Marathon "Vietcombank Mekong Delta" Hau Giang 2024

(HGO) - On the evening of July 6, at Hoa Binh Square, Vi Thanh city, the People's Committee of Hau Giang province solemnly held the opening ceremony of the 5th " Vietcombank Mekong Delta" Hau Giang International Marathon 2024.

Attending the event were Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); Mr. Nguyen Huu Dat, Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City.

“Vietcombank Mekong Delta” Hau Giang turns 5 with the theme “Together we shine” , Hau Giang wants to introduce to domestic and international friends the bright spots of the province’s economy, culture, society, and favorable investment attraction policies for the business community. Create conditions for athletes to shine on the running routes certified by the International Marathon Association with the aspiration to bring athletes to shine in the international arena.

This year,the International Marathon "Vietcombank Mekong Delta" Hau Giang attracted the largest number of athletes ever, more than 2.5 times higher than the number of athletes participating in the first season in 2019. With more than 10,800 professional and amateur athletes participating in the distances of 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km; child athletes competed in the distances of 1.1km and 2.4km.

This is the 4th year the award has received support from the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank). Contributing to the award's sustainable and professional development, expanding its scale and reaching its reach.
