Pickleball tournament opens to ignite passion for sports in An Giang

This year's tournament brings together more than 300 talented athletes from many localities, carrying the desire to conquer the peak, typically athletes from Rach Gia, Long Xuyen, Phu Quoc and many other provinces/cities.

The sports atmosphere in An Giang became vibrant with the solemn opening ceremony of the 2025 Nam Anh Cup Open Pickleball Tournament.

Ms. Van Tuyet Nhung, Head of the Organizing Committee, shared: “Our tournament is not simply a healthy sports playground where players compete in terms of technique and physical strength. Moreover, the tournament is a cultural bridge, connecting the Pickleball-loving community from many neighboring provinces. Your presence is the clearest proof of the strong development and irresistible attraction of this unique sport in Vietnam.”

According to Ms. Tuyet, this is also an important opportunity for the organizing committee to search for and discover outstanding athletes and potential seeds. Through these dramatic matches, Ms. Tuyet hopes to select the brightest talents, to prepare for professional and larger rounds, of national and regional stature in the future. The tournament has quickly affirmed its position as one of the major Pickleball events in the Mekong Delta region, receiving strong support from clubs and individuals.

This year’s tournament brings together more than 300 talented athletes from many localities, with the desire to conquer the peak, typically athletes from Rach Gia, Long Xuyen, Phu Quoc and many other provinces. The diversity in level and experience promises to create dramatic and eye-catching matches. Athletes will compete in many attractive events, carefully designed to suit many levels of expertise.

Mixed Pairs 5.2 includes 40 pairs (80 athletes) participating, this is the content with large number of athletes , demonstrating the strong development of Pickleball. Women's Doubles 4.3 includes 16 pairs (32 players), where female players demonstrate their dexterity and endurance. Finally, Mixed Doubles 4.6 includes 30 pairs (60 players), the content is to exchange, connect and enhance team spirit.

The Organizing Committee is committed to providing a fair and professional tournament and will award valuable prizes, including First, Second and Third Prizes to players with outstanding achievements, to honor and encourage the athletes' tireless efforts.

Mr. Tran Nguyen Ba - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang province affirmed the great significance of the tournament for the local sports movement: "The Nam Anh Cup Open Pickleball Tournament is an extremely meaningful activity, responding to the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".
