On May 26, K Hospital organized the first national Cancer Nursing Conference with the theme: "Innovation in management and improvement of the quality of cancer patient care".
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Professor, Dr. Le Van Quang, Director of K Hospital, emphasized: Cancer prevention and control is still a big challenge for medicine in the world and the role of nursing is extremely important. Nursing is not only about performing technical procedures, but also building a close relationship with patients, listening, providing emotional support, pain relief, managing side effects and facilitating the recovery process of patients. Staff working in Cancer Nursing require sensitivity, empathy and extensive professional knowledge. The World Health Organization has affirmed: Nursing care services are one of the pillars of the health system, the nursing team always plays a very important role in medical work and health care for the people.

Sharing at the workshop, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan emphasized: "The role of nursing is extremely important in the current work of cancer prevention and control. The quality of cancer patient care has changed significantly through the innovation of care assignment models, patient care organization, and standardization of nursing techniques. The services provided by nurses increasingly contribute significantly to improving the quality of health care for people and enhancing the professional status and image of nurses". At the workshop, the Deputy Minister of Health requested that leaders of the health sector continue to pay attention, invest, recognize and honor the role of nurses for a bright future of the nursing profession, as well as the health sector, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, universal health insurance and health for all.
The first National Cancer Nursing Conference will focus on discussing and exchanging topics: Internal medicine, surgery, radiotherapy, palliative care, nursing work and management of cancer patients. The conference has connected more than 300 domestic and international experts and delegates from the United States, France, Australia, the Netherlands, and Singapore to exchange, share experiences, learn and develop the medical industry in general, and nursing in particular, updating and providing knowledge, research results, and practices from domestic and international experts in many fields such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, palliative care, nursing work, and management of cancer patients to improve the quality of management as well as the quality of patient care.
