The contest is one of the important contents in implementing the project "Training and fostering foreign languages ​​for the Vietnam Coast Guard force in the period 2022 - 2030" approved by the Minister of National Defense .

Major General Tran Van Xuan, Deputy Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, delivered the opening speech of the contest.

The contest has 11 contestants who are part-time foreign language teachers at units in the entire force. These are comrades who have participated in training courses, fostering pedagogical knowledge and foreign language teaching skills organized at the Coast Guard Training and Professional Development Center from 2023 to present. The contestants will perform the following exam contents: Compiling lectures; preparing electronic lesson plans; and practicing teaching.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General Tran Van Xuan emphasized that English has become an indispensable requirement, the key for Coast Guard officers and employees to confidently communicate, coordinate patrols, coordinate search and rescue, enforce international law, as well as participate more deeply in bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms in the region and the world . Therefore, today's English Contest is not only a purely professional activity, but also a forum to encourage the spirit of learning and practicing foreign languages ​​​​in the entire force; creating an environment for officers and soldiers to confidently demonstrate their knowledge, bravery and professional demeanor.

The Deputy Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard believes that the contestants are typical faces, representing the learning spirit and striving will of the entire force.
