Welcoming the distinguished guests and all the people attending the opening ceremony, Comrade Le Thanh Do, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, said: Proud to be the land of Ban flowers, for many years now, the Ban Flower Festival has been held annually in Dien Bien Phu city; loved and awaited by many people and tourists at home and abroad. In 2025, the Ban Flower Festival opens on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the opening battle of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, creating a victory that "Resounds throughout the five continents, shakes the world"; is a practical activity to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Comrade Le Thanh Do also said: This year's Ban Flower Festival is held together with the 8th Dien Bien Province Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival with many attractive activities that will contribute to preserving, honoring and promoting the traditional cultural values of the 19 ethnic groups in Dien Bien province, promoting the natural beauty, cultural beauty, and tourism potential of Dien Bien in particular and the Northwest region in general to a large number of people in the country and international friends.
This is also an opportunity for Dien Bien to continue promoting the advantages of its land, people, and natural conditions to attract tourists, strengthen the promotion of tourism potential and strengths; strongly promote tourism cooperation between Dien Bien province and localities nationwide.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of the Party Committee, government and people of Dien Bien province in preserving and organizing the Ban Flower Festival and the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of Ethnic Groups. The beauty and value of the Ban flower have been preserved, conserved and promoted by the ethnic people of Dien Bien through the organization of the annual Ban Flower Festival, becoming a unique tourism product, actively contributing to honoring and developing ethnic cultural forms.
To develop sustainable tourism and exploit more effectively the values of cultural, historical and natural heritage, including Bauhinia flowers, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long suggested that Dien Bien province focus on a number of tasks: Developing tourism in a professional, modern, focused and key direction; focusing on in-depth development to ensure quality and efficiency, affirming the brand and competitiveness; developing sustainable tourism associated with preserving and promoting the values of historical-revolutionary relics and national cultural values.
Maximize the potential and advantages of natural factors and ethnic culture, the province's unique strengths, enhance cultural exchange and enrichment between ethnic communities and with provinces in the region and the whole country. Mobilize all resources, encourage the participation of businesses and investors in the service sector, develop infrastructure, and continuously improve the quality of tourism products.
Continue to protect and develop Bauhinia flowers in association with forest protection, preserving natural landscapes, ensuring a clean ecological environment, serving sustainable tourism development; promote and enhance the brand so that the Bauhinia Flower Festival is truly attractive, becoming an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
Along with that, Dien Bien province needs to pay attention to developing typical tourism products, effectively exploiting traditional cultural values associated with Ban flowers, creating conditions for ethnic minorities to participate and enjoy the results of tourism development activities. Strengthen cooperation with provinces in the region and international partners to promote the value and image of Ban flowers to create a driving force for tourism development in Dien Bien in particular and the Northwest region in general.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long also requested central ministries, departments and branches to continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for Dien Bien to develop comprehensively; requested investors to continue to pay attention to investing in developing the tourism and service industries, contributing to improving material and spiritual life, creating opportunities for Dien Bien people to get rich in their homeland.

The special art program on the opening night of the Dien Bien Ban Flower Festival 2025 with the participation of artists: Tung Duong, Double2T, Ngo Lan Huong... and hundreds of actors from cultural and tourist villages in Dien Bien province attracted the attention of a large audience.
The Ban Flower Festival has become a tourism brand of Dien Bien province; a bridge for Dien Bien to promote its image, promote exchange, cooperation and socio-economic development.
