Opening Ceremony of the Da Lat Cherry Blossom Festival

The performance of "Oh, the Sunshine!" opened the inaugural night, recreating the springtime atmosphere of the Da Lat plateau.

This event marked the beginning of a series of cultural and tourism activities in the province at the start of the spring season, attracting a large number of local people and tourists.

Attending the opening ceremony were: Ms. Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with leaders of departments, agencies, and localities; representatives of businesses, sponsors, press agencies, the people, and tourists.

In her opening remarks at the festival, Ms. Tran Thi Vu Loan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward, Da Lat, emphasized: "Cherry blossoms are not only a characteristic flower of the highland region, but also a cultural symbol closely associated with the history of the formation and development of Da Lat in the past and Lam Dong province today."

The festival is organized to honor the scenic value and cultural identity; and at the same time, to spread the image of the gentle, elegant, and hospitable people of Lam Dong."

Immediately following the ceremony, the opening art program, staged in a semi-realistic format, consisted of 3 chapters and 10 scenes, recreating the story of cherry blossoms associated with the history of the formation and development of the Lam Dong plateau region.

The appearance of famous singers and artists brought spectacular performances to the opening night.

The program features performances by many renowned artists, professional dance troupes, fashion designers, and amateur actors, creating a unique artistic space that reflects the rich cultural identity of the highlands.

Chapter 1, themed "Da Lat - The Legend of a Flower," focuses on depicting the origins and the enduring connection of cherry blossoms with Da Lat; honoring the image of the people, knowledge, and elegant beauty of this highland region through symbolic artistic performances.

The pristine beauty of this iconic flower shines brightly on stage.

Female students showcased white ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), evoking the elegant and intellectual image of old Da Lat.

Chapter 2 offered the audience a unique experience with the theme "The Fragrance of the Great Forest - Whispers of Spring". Through this, each work expressed the atmosphere of spring reunion, the harmony between nature, people, and the culture of different regions; highlighting the diverse and profound identity of Lam Dong in its development process.

The fashion show showcased a collection of colorful floral ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dresses), celebrating the cultural beauty of different regions.

Chapter 3, themed "Cherry Blossom Season - A Gathering of Spring Colors," was the climax of the opening night. Each song conveyed a message of unity, peace, and connection between people, nature, and their homeland; expressing the aspiration for development and prosperity of Lam Dong province in the new era.

The Da Lat Cherry Blossom Festival - Spring 2026 will be organized with 11 main programs, taking place from January 16th to February 5th, 2026, in Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat and neighboring wards in Lam Dong province.
