Opening of Thai Festival 2025 with the theme "The Pulse of Tradition"

On the evening of March 28, the event "Thai Festival: The Pulse of Tradition" (Thai Festival 2025) took place at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh attended and spoke at the event.

This year, Hanoi is one of six major cities in the world hosting the Thai Festival. The event aims to showcase the potential of Thailand’s creative economy and promote people-to-people connections through culture, tourism and the arts.

With the theme "The Pulse of Tradition", the event is expected to bring a new spirit, affirming "Thailand's Creative Economy" as a symbol of unique creativity, forged from a long-standing cultural heritage and always reaching out, in tune with global development trends.

Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, said that Thai Festival plays the role of a cultural bridge promoting understanding of Thai culture and people-to-people exchange, demonstrating the joint cooperation efforts between Vietnam and Thailand.

Expressing her gratitude to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant Thai agencies, Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya affirmed that Thailand is committed to bringing quality and responsible investment to Vietnam to promote economic goals and support local communities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh emphasized that choosing Hanoi as one of the largest cities and capitals in the world to organize a large-scale event demonstrates the Royal Thai Government's respect for Vietnam in general and the capital Hanoi in particular.

"Vietnam and Thailand are not only two close neighboring countries in the ASEAN common home but also close brothers, sharing many similar cultural values and long-standing traditional relationships. We are all proud of that common history, with a special mark such as the time when President Ho Chi Minh, beloved by every Vietnamese person, lived and carried out revolutionary activities in Thailand" - Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh said.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that in the context of the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership developing well in all fields, towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, cultural, sports, tourism and people-to-people exchanges play an increasingly important role, acting as a solid bridge to help enhance mutual understanding and trust.

The Deputy Minister also expressed his belief that during the 3-day event, the public and visitors of the capital will have rich experiences, immersing themselves in the cultural space imbued with the identity of Thailand through food stalls, unique products, traditional and modern performances, and especially the Songkran and Loy Krathong festivals.

Responding to Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, Ms. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand affirmed that for many generations, Thailand and Vietnam have been neighbors, partners and friends. The relationship between the two countries is built on the foundation of mutual respect and deep understanding beyond borders.

"Thai Festival 2025, held at a time when the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, is an opportunity to remind us that culture is not just a formality, but also a bridge - a bridge that connects and brings us together to understand each other better, to cherish humanity and to build a common future of cooperation and prosperity," Ms. Lalivan Karnchanachari emphasized.

Visitors experience activities at Thai Festival 2025

Thai Festival 2025 will take place over 3 days from March 28-30. At the event, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Thai cultural space combining modernity and tradition, through many activities such as culinary experiences, handicraft workshops, outdoor cinemas, etc. In addition, Thai Festival 2025 also brings traditional dances from various regions of Thailand. These performances will be a bridge between tradition and creativity, helping the audience experience diverse music.

The special highlight of Thai Festival 2025 is the Loy Krathong lantern festival via digital platform and the Songkran water splashing activity - one of the most vibrant and unique festivals in Asia, recognized by UNESCO.

On March 29 and 30, there will be two special screenings of two outstanding Thai films, "Love Destiny the Movie" and "404 Run Run". In particular, the main actor Ter Chantavit Dhanasevi will be present at the festival to interact and give interviews.
