Attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; leaders of central ministries and branches and Ho Chi Minh City.
The exhibition is displayed at 3 locations: Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Nguyen Du - Dong Khoi Street and opposite Chi Lang Park (District 1).
At Nguyen Hue walking street, the Organizing Committee displayed more than 200 images with the theme "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 with the new era of development of the Vietnamese people" and "Pride of a border strip".

Specifically, 95 images depict the long journey of steadfast, indomitable struggle full of sacrifices and hardships of our army and people in the resistance war against the US, the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975. After 50 years, the City named after Uncle Ho has increasingly affirmed its role as a special urban area, a major center of economy, culture, education - training, science - technology; a pioneering City, ready to join the whole country in entering a new era, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
At the same time, this area also displays 150 outstanding and typical works of the 3rd "Proud of a Border" art photography contest organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Central External Relations Commission and other units.
On Nguyen Du - Dong Khoi Street (in front of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City), the Organizing Committee displayed 70 images with the theme "Working class - The driving force in the movement to fight for national liberation and build a sustainable country". The exhibition highlights the image of workers, civil servants, and laborers in Ho Chi Minh City "dare to think, dare to do" in production with a dynamic, self-reliant, pioneering spirit in all fields, actively studying and researching science, ... in the new period.
In addition, 55 images are displayed in the area opposite Chi Lang Park with the theme "Ho Chi Minh City - 50 years of shining with His name". The images aim to recreate famous architectural works that still exist through many historical ups and downs. Along with works that have an impact on people's lives, works with economic symbolism, where the first Metro line of Ho Chi Minh City was opened, new urban areas... All have completely changed the appearance of Ho Chi Minh City, becoming a modern, dynamic megacity of the whole country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, emphasized that the Great Spring Victory of 1975 was a major historical milestone that ended the long and arduous resistance war against the US to save the country, bringing the country into an era of independence, unity and development. 50 years after the Great Spring Victory, Ho Chi Minh City - the city honored to be named after Uncle Ho, has continuously grown and developed, promoting the revolutionary spirit, dynamism and creativity; constantly striving to overcome many difficulties and challenges to achieve proud achievements.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, the exhibition on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification is a special occasion to pay tribute to previous generations, to arouse the spirit of patriotism and the will to rise up of the nation in the new era; contributing to arousing and encouraging the younger generation to continue the tradition of national pride and build a prosperous country.
In particular, the artistic photos with the theme "Pride of a border strip" were invested in elaborately, with much dedication to closely following the theme, creatively conveying realistic and emotional images, vividly reflecting the beauty of the homeland, the country and the people of Vietnam. The works also contribute to spreading simple but noble examples, honoring the forces that are day and night firmly protecting the border and national territorial sovereignty; highlighting the glorious tradition of 80 years of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.
The exhibition runs until May 5, 2025.
