In the atmosphere of welcoming the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival in 2024, from December 24, Vietnam Railways Corporation officially put into operation the La Reine (Queen) train to serve passengers on the Da Lat - Trai Mat route to continue to bring passengers new experiences, meeting the increasing needs of train passengers.
Inspired by the architecture of the Nam Phuong Queen Palace, the La Reine carriages are designed luxuriously and delicately, a combination of Indochinese and French styles, both bearing the beauty of classical Asia and the romantic, poetic features of Da Lat. The ancient-style decorative lighting system creates a harmonious, luxurious overall space.
In terms of technology and amenities, the carriages are designed with many technical improvements to enhance quality, such as the restroom area equipped with new equipment, integrating a water-compressed air discharge system combined with an anaerobic microbiological treatment system; ceramic sinks combined with tables and cast stone floors.
The train is equipped with 36 seats along both sides, making it convenient for visitors to enjoy the scenery on both sides. In particular, the train has 12-seat VIP compartments suitable for visitors buying family tickets who want to have their own space.
Vietnam Railways Corporation applies many promotional programs to reduce train ticket prices such as: passengers buying round-trip tickets receive a 25% discount on two-way tickets. Passengers buying group tickets of 10 or more people receive a discount of 15% to 40% on ticket prices. In addition, passengers are also served artichoke tea, use free wifi and enjoy music performances on the train; 2 pairs of trains running at night are served additional light meals.
Along with “Da Lat Night Journey” becoming a hot trend of “hunting for night trains”, La Reine train cars are expected to become an attractive tourism product that visitors cannot miss when coming to Da Lat during Christmas and New Year.
