Exploiting and developing tourism associated with the World Heritage Sites of Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son and Kiep Bac

At the conference, delegates representing the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Management Board of Con Son-Kiep Bac relics; representatives of the Hai Phong Tourism Association, Hai Phong University, Hai Phong College of Tourism, Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club, and tourism businesses exchanged and proposed many ideas to remove difficulties, promote linkages between localities, effectively exploit the potential of spiritual and cultural tourism in the World Cultural Heritage complex of Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son, Kiep Bac, towards the goal of sustainable tourism development, bringing benefits to businesses and the community.

The Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac relic and scenic complex is the first chain-type heritage and the second inter-provincial heritage among the nine World Heritages of Vietnam recognized by UNESCO, affirming the unique value and global stature of Truc Lam Buddhism originating from the Yen Tu mountain range.

According to Head of Con Son-Kiep Bac Relic Management Board Nguyen Thi Thuy Lien: Carrying out the tasks assigned by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong, Con Son-Kiep Bac Relic Management Board has built 3 themed tours including: "One journey - Five destinations of World Heritage", "Following the footsteps of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam" and "Discovering the World Heritage of Con Son-Kiep Bac", in order to effectively exploit the value of the World Cultural Heritage complex of Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son, Kiep Bac.

The Relic Management Board has also coordinated with specialized departments to renovate, embellish, and upgrade infrastructure; invest in experiential models; train tour guides; and review service quality at relic sites such as Thanh Mai Pagoda, Kinh Chu Cave, and Nham Duong Pagoda.

This is an important first step for localities and tourism businesses to connect and build new products, contributing to making Con Son-Kiep Bac and associated relics become attractive destinations in the journey to explore the World Heritage Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son, Kiep Bac.
