Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa - Chairwoman of the Board of Members of Saigontourist Group - affirmed this at a meeting with leaders of 168 wards and communes of Ho Chi Minh City organized by this unit on December 6.
According to Ms. Hoa, Saigontourist Group has also begun to exploit typical ingredients, local specialties, and craft village products to include in the group's service and culinary system.
"We are determined to start with specific actions, even small but continuous, to create big results. The Group hopes to receive listening and support from management agencies in removing mechanisms, policies and procedures; thereby creating a safe legal corridor for innovation, product development and shaping long-term strategies," Ms. Hoa shared.
Saigontourist Group's leaders believe that if Vietnamese tourism wants to reach the world, it must start with deep connections and close companionship between relevant parties.
The Group is committed to implementing major strategic goals of the tourism industry, including strategic cooperation according to the "golden triangle" linking Saigontourist Group - Government - Local community to create a foundation for sustainable city tourism development in the period 2025 - 2030.
Saigontourist Group also proposed that the government support the building of a friendly and safe tourism environment to bring tourists to localities, while creating conditions to access and effectively exploit the rich tourism resources of new areas, thereby developing more new tours and products for domestic and foreign tourists.
According to some wards and communes, after the city restructured its administrative units, the network of tourist routes needs to be reorganized in a more synchronous manner, ensuring respect for the historical and cultural characteristics of each area, while facilitating the construction of tours, traffic connections, and services.
Mr. Doan Van Du - Chairman of Tan Son Nhat Ward People's Committee - said that the locality is planning to expand the night market area to develop the night economy, while also anticipating major infrastructure projects such as metro lines 2 and 5 passing through the Bay Hien intersection.
The city has also had a policy to form an urban development model associated with public transport (TOD), in which it aims to build commercial centers, parking lots... at transit points near hospitals and hotels, locations with great potential to form medical tourism products. Mr. Du hopes that Saigontourist Group will pay attention to investing in facilities and services to work with the ward to effectively exploit the night economy and urban tourism.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - said that the city had implemented the model of "each locality has at least one tourism product" with 22 localities having formed typical products. This is an important foundation to continue developing the idea for 168 wards, communes and special zones to have 168 tourism products.
"The advantage of Saigontourist Group is that it owns a tourism ecosystem stretching from North to South and has rich experience in organizing products. Together with departments, branches and localities, Saigontourist Group needs to strengthen coordination and enrich the destination system of Ho Chi Minh City," Mr. Dung requested.
