Discover the mural road in Nam Dinh that 'captures the hearts' of passersby

In 2022, Hai An commune was recognized by the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province as a model new rural commune. This is also the first model new rural commune of Hai Hau district.

The paintings create highlights and impressions for everyone when passing through Hai An commune.

To highlight this special event, Hai An commune has chosen the outstanding criteria in the cultural field. That is why the idea of the mural road was born from there.

The wall was given a new coat of paint.

Speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thang, Chairman of Hai An Commune People's Committee, said that the road used for painting murals is the road surrounding the national historical relic complex of An Trach temple, cultural house... of hamlet 5 and hamlet 6.

About 600 - 700 paintings with various contents are painted on the surrounding walls of this area.

Accordingly, Hai An commune mobilized 30 painters from the district and locality to paint continuously for 20 days regardless of sunny or rainy days.

Under the artistic hands of painters and art teachers at some schools in Hai Hau district, the old moss-covered wall surrounding the relic site has now been replaced with creative and new colors.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Thang, the mural road is a comprehensive picture with many different themes, closely linked to the history and culture of Hai An commune in particular and Vietnam in general.

From murals of banyan trees and communal houses, a familiar scene of life in the Northern countryside, to everyday images of children and ice cream sellers in the hot summer weather.

From ordinary daily life to paintings imbued with Vietnamese historical values, these are recreated through the image of the heroic martyr Vu Xuan Thieu (from Hai An commune), a pilot and an experienced air gunner. On the night of December 28, 1972, pilot Vu Xuan Thieu flew a Mig-21 to destroy an American B-52 and he heroically sacrificed himself. All are shown through these paintings.

Thanks to that, the village road passing through hamlets 5 and 6 of Hai An commune has been given a "new coat", contributing to building a green - clean - beautiful and friendly environmental landscape.

Since the mural road was formed, Hai An commune has become a sightseeing, photography, and check-in spot for many tourists inside and outside Hai Hau district. Thanks to that, the image, people, and countryside of Hai An commune are known to many people.

Bridges and canals are also very familiar images in every northern village.

The mural paintings stretch nearly 2 km, making anyone who sets foot here feel extremely excited.

Historical stories are recreated like a book that is turned page by page.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai An commune, before painting the murals, the government selected the best paint, with a lifespan of up to 5 years.

Therefore, up to now, the paintings are 2 years old but still retain their brightness, are not dirty, the paint stains are not patchy, faded but still have the same bright color as new.
