At Y Ty Commune Health Station, people with respiratory diseases (cough, difficulty breathing), asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, people suspected of having tuberculosis, prolonged cough and people in contact with tuberculosis patients were clinically screened, had digital X-rays, and sputum tests using GeneXpert machine.

Doctors also advise and guide on how to prevent and control seasonal epidemics. Those who have been in close contact with tuberculosis patients or have lung lesions detected on X-rays have their samples taken to test for tuberculosis bacteria.

Y Ty Commune Health Station also screens for other chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and non-communicable diseases for management and treatment advice. Suspected cases of tuberculosis and lung disease have been sampled by the Provincial Center for Disease Control and managed and treated according to the regulations of the National Tuberculosis Control Program.

This activity contributes to the goal of eliminating tuberculosis in Lao Cai province by 2030.
