At the conference to review the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity during the 13th Party Congress and the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term held on November 10, Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Quyet requested units and localities in the province to urgently handle violations of land laws and projects that are behind schedule, backlogged, prolonged, ineffective, and at risk of loss and waste.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet, Secretary of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, to meet the development requirements in the new period, the entire political system in the province needs to deeply understand that the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity is both an urgent and long-term task of Party building and building a socialist rule-of-law state.

Therefore, each cadre and party member must truly set an example; carry out resolutely, regularly, continuously, with high political determination, strong and effective actions from the province to the grassroots and party cells. In particular, it is necessary to determine that prevention is the main, fundamental, long-term task and detection and handling are important and breakthrough.

The Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee requested all levels, sectors, heads of agencies, units and localities to focus on leading, directing and implementing many key tasks. In particular, all levels and sectors need to continue to focus on thoroughly grasping, deploying, implementing promptly, seriously and effectively the policies, regulations, orientations and directions of the Central Government and the province on the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity, ensuring that they are suitable to the situation and conditions in localities, agencies and units.

In particular, urgently review and handle according to authority violations of land laws occurring in the province; focus on handling works and projects that are behind schedule, backlogged, prolonged, ineffective, and at risk of loss and waste. At the same time, units and localities speed up the progress of handling headquarters and surplus real estate after restructuring the apparatus and have appropriate plans for preservation, use, and exploitation, not allowing damage, degradation, encroachment, loss, and waste while waiting for handling according to regulations.

In addition, units and localities need to strengthen close coordination, improve the capacity and efficiency of functional agencies; resolutely, regularly, comprehensively and synchronously deploy the work of inspection, supervision, investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments. In particular, focus on removing difficulties and obstacles, speeding up progress and striving to complete the investigation, prosecution and trial of cases under the monitoring and direction of the Provincial Steering Committee; completion time is by the end of 2025 or at the latest before the 14th National Party Congress.

Units and localities also need to continue to promote administrative reform in all fields; apply information technology, digital transformation, build, connect and share data to serve the inspection and control of assets and income, towards preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity through monitoring and inspection methods based on data. At the same time, localities and units continue to promote the supervisory and critical role of elected bodies, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, press agencies and people in detecting and fighting against corruption, waste and negativity...

According to the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, on the basis of thoroughly grasping the resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Central Committee on the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has led and directed the concretization into many policies, regulations and solutions that are appropriate to the local practical situation. Thereby, the awareness and actions of cadres, party members and people on the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity have changed; the majority of key leaders at all levels have shown pioneering and exemplary ethics and lifestyle, and have been active in the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; the activities of agencies have become increasingly strict, public and transparent.

During the term, through inspection, examination, detection and handling of 12 cases/24 people with signs of corruption, transferred to the investigation agency for verification; many serious and complicated corruption and economic cases were promptly detected and handled strictly, publicly and in accordance with the law. Of which, the authorities initiated new prosecutions of 78 cases/179 defendants; prosecuted 68 cases/163 defendants, tried 62 cases/168 defendants; the recovery of assets in corruption cases was carried out with total recovered assets reaching 34 billion VND/61 billion VND in damage.
