Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Permanent Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, together with leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Cultural Heritage Conservation Center and relevant departments, recently directly inspected the damage caused by floods at national historical and cultural relics in Dien Khanh commune.
The delegation inspected Trinh Phong Temple, Dien Khanh Temple of Literature and Dien Khanh Citadel. According to records, the recent floods have damaged a number of items at these constructions. Specifically, about 30m of fence (2m high) at Trinh Phong Temple and 40m of fence (2.5m high) at Dien Khanh Temple of Literature have completely collapsed, causing obstruction and unsafety for people's passage.
Faced with the above situation, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed the locality to immediately coordinate with the Provincial Military Command, mobilize forces and vehicles to urgently collect and clean up the scene. At the same time, units need to quickly make a repair estimate, report to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to include it in the list of urgent repairs.
As for Dien Khanh Citadel, the provincial leaders assigned the Provincial Development Project Management Board to develop a plan to reinforce the surrounding embankment system, ensuring absolute safety for people and the relic.

Talking to Van Hoa , Mr. Tran Duc Ha, Director of the Provincial Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, said that the locality has coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to clean up the collapsed fences at the relic sites. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is urgently making a plan to rebuild a new, more solid fence system.
Along with the restoration work, the Center is also reviewing all relics affected by the recent floods to report to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in order to have timely protection plans.
Sharing more about the local cultural depth, Mr. Tran Duc Ha said: The province currently owns 257 ranked cultural heritages. Of which, there are 3 intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO (including Southern amateur music, Cham pottery and Bai Choi) along with 3 special national relics and 5 precious national treasures being preserved.
