On the afternoon of November 2, information from Vinh Hai Border Guard Station, Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command said that at 5:30 a.m. on November 28, the Binh Tien working group, Vinh Hai Border Guard Station, Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command, received a report of a shipwreck that occurred at Binh Tien beach, Cong Hai commune. Immediately after receiving the information, the unit urgently organized verification and deployed rescue forces.
According to initial verification results, at around 7:30 p.m. on November 27, fishing boat NT 90329 TS, captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Trung (born in 1976, residing in residential group 28, Dong Hai ward), along with 4 fishermen fishing with trawl nets, was on its way ashore to avoid the storm.
While moving to the Binh Tien sea area, Cong Hai commune, the boat suddenly encountered big waves and strong winds and sank when only about 300m from shore. Immediately after the incident, 2 fishermen swam to shore safely, but 3 fishermen are still missing.
At 2:00 p.m. this afternoon (November 28), the body of fisherman Nguyen Thach T (born in 1992, residing in residential group 6, Dong Hai ward) was found drifting ashore.
Currently, forces are still expanding the search area around the sunken ship, scanning the surrounding waters, and deploying specialized measures to increase the possibility of detecting missing people.
Rescue operations are being continued despite the worsening weather conditions at sea. Authorities continue to concentrate all resources and manpower to search for the two fishermen with urgency and determination, not leaving out any suspicious areas.
