VietNamNetVietNamNet04/07/2023

On July 4, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chief of Office of Khanh Hoa People's Committee, said that the Provincial People's Committee has approved the Project on night-time economic development until 2030.

The province assigned relevant departments and units to research, synthesize, and propose solutions to remove difficulties arising during the implementation process.

With the approved project, this locality focuses on building and developing the night economy in 4 areas, including cultural - entertainment activities; food and beverage services; shopping; tourism . The areas oriented to focus on organizing are Nha Trang City, Cam Ranh Long Beach, Nhu Tien Beach, Doc Let.

To implement the Night-time Economic Development Project, Khanh Hoa is divided into two phases.

In phase 1, from 2023-2025, the province will survey and select organizations to exploit available areas and services such as cultural services, entertainment, dining, shopping and night tourism.

In phase 2, expected from 2026-2030, the locality will complete the development model orientation, organize calls, and implement projects to effectively exploit the night-time economy.

In addition, the province encourages tourism development such as dining, cuisine, retail, ... and cultural activities, performing arts programs, night sports, with local identity to serve people and attract tourists.

This project is expected to make the most of new development opportunities, improve people's income and living standards; connect the community and socialize local people with domestic and foreign tourists, especially in a province famous for tourism.

However, when the project is put into practice, the locality also faces many risks and challenges related to security and order issues, infrastructure, social evils, noise pollution, etc.

Therefore, Khanh Hoa does not encourage the development of night-time economic activities in a mass manner, but depending on the nature and area of each activity and service, a specific operating time frame will be determined. The locality focuses on developing the night-time economy after 10:00 p.m. (ensuring compliance with current regulations) in symbolic areas, current destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, said that in recent years, the local tourism industry has developed, with a large number of domestic and international visitors.

When the Nighttime Economic Development Project is shaped, local tourism will have more unique models and products. Tourists will have more places and time to have fun when visiting the locality, instead of just walking around the streets, eating and shopping at the markets at night like now.

Khanh Hoa has strengths in tourism development. In the first 6 months of this year, the province welcomed nearly 2.8 million overnight visitors, an increase of 165% over the same period last year; revenue reached about 12,566 billion VND. By 2030, Khanh Hoa will be a centrally-governed city, with the orientation of developing an international sea tourism and service center, according to the Prime Minister's decision.
