Survey of residential areas before the 11th Session of the 8th City People's Council

HNN.VN - On December 2, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Ha Van Tuan and representatives of the leaders of the City People's Council's committees conducted a field survey at a number of locations where voters reported that many civil problems still existed.

In Kim Tra ward, according to records, many areas along the Bo River bank through An Thuan residential group have been eroded, eating deep into production land, causing dangerous subsidence and threatening some households living along the river, especially during the rainy and stormy season.

Local reports said that the project to dredge and divert water flow from Tan Xuan Lai bridge through Quang Tho to Bo river mouth has been approved for investment in the 2026 - 2030 period. However, people have suggested that there needs to be a solution to ensure immediate safety.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Ha Van Tuan requested that specialized agencies continue to conduct detailed surveys, develop short-term and long-term response plans, and prioritize high-risk areas.

Mr. Ha Van Tuan emphasized that ensuring people's safety during the storm season must be given top priority to avoid unfortunate damage.

The working group also visited Huong Tra ward. Local voters proposed to build an embankment to prevent landslides on the Bo river bank through Lai Thanh residential groups; and proposed to include it in the investment plan to upgrade Provincial Road 16 passing through the residential area. The road is currently degraded, affecting the movement of people, officials, workers and posing a potential risk to traffic safety.

In Phong Dinh ward, the landslide situation along the O Lau river is also complicated. Two key sections from Cang Cu Nam village to Phuoc Phu village and from Hoa Vien village to Vinh An village are severely eroded, putting many households along the river at risk of losing their productive land, affecting their property and lives.

After conducting a field survey, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Ha Van Tuan affirmed that voters' opinions will be fully compiled and reported at the 11th regular session of the City People's Council.

Mr. Ha Van Tuan requested that the authorities urgently review and propose specific and drastic solutions to ensure the final settlement of remaining social problems.
