At the ceremony, the commander of the Border Guard Command awarded cash prizes and Certificates of Merit to the Professional Department, Hoanh Mo Border Gate Border Guard Station, Van Gia Port Border Gate Border Guard Station, and four individuals for their achievements in combating and preventing illegal cross-border goods transportation.

Earlier, at approximately 2:00 AM on December 20, 2025, in the Dau Tan sea area of Vinh Thuc commune, the Van Gia Port Border Guard Station discovered and apprehended three motorboats and one iron ferry along with two individuals transporting 900 bags of dried betel nuts, totaling 27 tons. During a quick interrogation, the suspects admitted to transferring the dried betel nuts from the iron ferry to the motorboats for transport to China.
Subsequently, at 11:30 AM on December 21, 2025, in Hoanh Mo commune, the Anti-Drug and Crime Task Force of the Provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with the Hoanh Mo Border Guard Post, apprehended Bui Van Hung, residing in Hai Phong City, driving a car with license plate 62A-219.71 carrying 177 used iPhone mobile phones and 18 sets of mobile phone components.
Through the swift interrogation of Hung, the special task force identified and arrested two more individuals involved in the network.
Based on the investigation results and in coordination with the Regional Prosecutor's Office 4 for crime classification, the Hoành Mô Border Guard Post initiated a criminal case for the crime of "illegally transporting goods across the border," and handed the case over to the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Investigation Agency for further investigation and handling in accordance with the law.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command, Major General Nguyen Van Thien, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard Command, acknowledged, commended, and congratulated the Quang Ninh Border Guard on the achievements it has made.
The comrade requested that the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard continue to proactively monitor the situation; strengthen patrols and controls to firmly protect the sovereignty and security of the border and islands in the Northeast region of the Fatherland; thoroughly understand the area, methods, and tactics of various types of offenders; coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, and relevant functional forces; strengthen international cooperation; and effectively combat and prevent all types of crimes and violations of the law right from the border area.
