Two outstanding teams were awarded commendations for their excellent performance in the fight against crime.

On the morning of February 13th, the An Giang Provincial Police awarded commendations to the Economic Police Department and the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency for their outstanding achievements in the fight against crime. Notable achievements included the apprehension and persuasion of five wanted individuals and the dismantling of a major case involving the production and sale of counterfeit food products, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of raw materials, additives, and related evidence.

Since the beginning of the year, the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency has apprehended and persuaded 5 wanted individuals to surrender, contributing to improving the effectiveness of crime apprehension and ensuring the strict enforcement of the law.

Previously, on February 4, 2026, the Economic Police Department successfully investigated and dismantled a criminal ring, arresting three individuals for the crime of "Producing and trading counterfeit food products." The seized items included: nearly 360 kg of finished coffee; 158 kg of roasted coffee; nearly 5 tons of processed and roasted corn and soybeans flavored with artificial additives; 1,260 kg of foreign-made caramel coloring; 600 kg of sweeteners; 8 containers of additives totaling 80 kg; over 29 tons of unprocessed corn and soybean raw materials; nearly 7,450 packaging bags, and many other related items.

The timely detection and dismantling of this case has contributed to preventing a large quantity of counterfeit goods from potentially entering the market, protecting consumer rights, and maintaining market stability in the area.
