Dreams "start" from a blank page
“For a young writer, being able to join the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association is a blessing and a blessing to me. I have learned more from experienced writers and poets. I hope that on my journey to writing, I will always receive love and share experiences from seniors and exchange and learn from young authors to improve myself” - that is the “opening” sharing of the emotional journey of young author Nguyen Thi Tham, Literature Department, Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association when participating in the Literature and Youth Creation Camp 2025.
With the same eagerness, author Nguyen Bao Anh, a student of class 8A6, Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School, Phuoc Long Ward, said: "I tried my hand at writing poems and asked my teacher to send them to the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association. Honestly, I didn't dare to expect anything, but after a few weeks, I received the good news that all three of my poems were approved. The feeling at that time was not only joy, but it became my happiness and respect for my parents and teachers."
Bao Anh's innocent yet loving verses touched the readers' emotions. With the poem "Grandma!", Bao Anh shared: "Grandma/ Memories of my childhood/ Follow me until now/ Grandma's lullaby in my dreams/ Oh! How sweet it is.../ Grandma has returned to the land of white clouds/ I will always watch over this place/ Please remember your grandmother's words/ "Be good, study well, and become successful".
Author Nguyen Thao Linh, a student of class 9A1, Phuoc Binh Secondary School, Phuoc Binh Ward, said: Since I was a child, I have loved reading books, especially books written in the adventure genre. As for writing, I like to write prose, works with fictional and imaginative colors. The trip to Da Lat to attend the 2025 Literature and Youth Creation Camp was one of the most memorable trips for me. Da Lat welcomed me with cool and fresh weather on an autumn afternoon. I got to visit many places such as: Lam Dong Museum, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Bao Dai Palace...
With the care and sharing of the members of the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association, Thao Linh said: I feel like I am living in “a warm family of literature”. From the trip, Thao Linh introduced to readers the work The Story of the Fairy Who Loves Reading.
Young writer Dam Minh Khoi, Literature Department, Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association confided: “In the hustle and bustle of daily work, sometimes I forget that I used to be passionate about writing. It seems that the older I get, the more challenges I face on the path to my passion. Then one day, when information about the organization of the Literature and Youth Creation Camp came, I found the motivation to write and compose again. I tried to perfect my work and was lucky to be selected by the Organizing Committee. That really encouraged me a lot and gave me more motivation to continue my writing career.”
As writer Bui Thi Bien Linh shared: “For me and my students, the writing camp truly gives wings to the dreams of talented students: Nguyen Bao Anh, Nguyen Thao Linh... As a teacher of these young artists, I happily follow each step of my students' growth, my heart filled with respect for the vision, heart and wise direction of the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association towards the career of "giving wings to dreams" for young writers."
Connecting, nurturing, and “opening up” a long journey
Permanent Vice President of Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association Pham Van Hoang said: “The most valuable thing about this year’s Literature and Youth Creation Camp is not the number of manuscripts but the spirit of learning, curiosity and respect for words of the young people. Although the time is short, the discussions, the nights of chatting with the writing, the field trips and even the unexpected emotional moments have created a delicate bond between the members.
“The 2025 Literature and Youth Creation Camp organized by the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association at the end of October attracted 7 young writers to participate. From the creation camp, the first pages of writing were opened, beautiful connections were formed and the literary flame has been and is continuing to be preserved and passed on.”
Permanent Vice President of Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association PHAM VAN HOANG
“The writing camp has created a connecting environment for young writers in Dong Nai to have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of previous writers, so that each individual can see more clearly their creative path. Through that, together we can nurture the love of literature with honesty, responsibility and professional pride” - Mr. Hoang shared.
In addition to young writers, the 2025 Literature and Youth Creation Camp also has the participation of many great authors, writers, and poets of Dong Nai such as: Hoang Ngoc Diep, Dam Chu Van, Bui Thi Bien Linh, Tran Thu Hang, Nguyen Minh Duc, Nguyen Duy Dong, Linh Tam... Many new works are born with the breath of life and new movements of social life.
When literature and Dong Nai youth go together, creativity will certainly continue to be opened up, lit up by sincere words, by love and passion for literature. No matter the circumstances, literature is always a place for people to come to, reflect on themselves and make life more beautiful, spreading good stories about Dong Nai land to the community.
