About 102,000 customers in the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen... had their electricity interrupted due to the storms.

On the afternoon of July 19, sudden thunderstorms occurred in many localities in the Northern region, affecting the power supply on a large scale.

Initial statistics show that about 102,000 customers in the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh , Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen... had their electricity interrupted.

Faced with the rapidly evolving and complex natural disaster situation, the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) has directed its member power companies to immediately deploy response plans.

100% of the staff was mobilized to be on duty, the on-site force urgently counted the damage, isolated the incident area and prepared all necessary materials and equipment to quickly restore the power grid, ensuring the safety of people and property during the implementation of the work.

In Thai Nguyen , a locality directly affected by the storm, about 8,300 customers had their electricity interrupted. The storm and tornado occurred between 3:35 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. on July 19, causing extensive property damage and directly affecting the power grid.

Thai Nguyen Electricity Company recorded that in Phu Binh district, the storm damaged 2 medium voltage power poles, affecting about 1,300 customers. In Cau Gia Bay area, Phan Dinh Phung ward, 3 more medium voltage power poles fell, causing more than 7,000 customers to lose power.

Immediately after the weather stabilized, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Thai Nguyen Power Company activated the approved plan.

The working groups immediately isolated the incident area, conducted inspections, and handled the situation according to procedures, aiming to restore power to the people as soon as possible. Up to now, the recovery work is still being focused on with the highest spirit.

Not only Thai Nguyen, EVNNPC's affiliated units in many other provinces and cities are also focusing all their efforts to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

EVNNPC continues to closely direct and coordinate with localities, making efforts to restore the power grid, quickly bringing people's lives and production back to normal.
