When students from mountainous regions join the ranks of the Party
Recently, at Phuoc Son Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School, the school's Party branch held a ceremony to admit three outstanding students of the Gie Trieng ethnic group as new Party members: Ho Xuan Quyen, Ho Hai Hoang Huu, and Vu Nhat Thien.
School leaders stated that the simultaneous admission of three Gie Trieng ethnic minority students into the Party demonstrates the clear maturity of ethnic minority students in political awareness, sense of responsibility, and aspiration to contribute.
Ho Xuan Quyen couldn't hide his emotion. Born into a Gie Trieng ethnic minority family in the mountainous region of Phuoc Son, Quyen understands very well the difficulties faced by young people there. His path to school was once marked by rainy seasons and floods, and days of hardship. But it was the boarding school environment and the guidance of his teachers that helped him nurture his desire to learn and grow.
“I am very proud to have joined the Party while still a student. For me, this is not only a personal honor but also a joy for my family and village. I will try to study better and live more responsibly to be worthy of the trust of the Party organization and my teachers,” Quyen shared.
Quyen's story is also typical of many students in mountainous areas today. They no longer feel inferior or self-conscious, but are gradually asserting themselves through their academic achievements, their dynamism in the Youth Union movement, and their sense of responsibility to the community.
According to Mr. Truong Cong Thu, Party Secretary and Principal of Phuoc Son Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School, for a student to join the ranks of the Party is a long process of monitoring, nurturing, and training.
“The school considers educating students about revolutionary ideals a very important task. For ethnic minority students, in addition to teaching literacy, we must also help them build aspirations for life, a sense of responsibility, and a spirit of dedication to their homeland. Students admitted to the Party all have a history of serious effort, excellent academic performance, exemplary living, and active participation in collective activities,” Mr. Thu said.
According to Mr. Thu, it is encouraging that ethnic minority students are becoming increasingly confident. Many of them have good thinking skills, a desire to excel, and are willing to participate in community activities. Their admission to the Party while still in school will create great motivation for many other students to follow suit.
Instilling ideals in ethnic minority youth.
Kham Duc is a mountainous area with a large population of ethnic minorities. For many years, the local authorities have paid close attention to Party development among young people, especially ethnic minority students. This is not only a task of building Party organizations but also a way to create a pool of young cadres for the future.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Kham Duc commune, believes that admitting ethnic minority students into the Party has special significance in the current context.
“The students admitted this time are all highly motivated and responsible in their studies and extracurricular activities. What is particularly commendable is that they are all from the Gie Trieng ethnic group. This shows that political and ideological education in schools, especially in ethnic minority areas, is undergoing positive changes and becoming increasingly in-depth,” Mr. Nguyen said.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, in mountainous areas, fostering ideals among ethnic minority youth is of great importance. When a student joins the Party, it is not only a source of personal pride but also creates a ripple effect in the community.
“Many of today’s students from mountainous regions are the future source of young cadres for the locality. Therefore, the locality always pays attention to the work of creating a pool of outstanding youth union members in schools. We hope that in the future, no matter where they study or work, they will maintain their pioneering spirit, sense of responsibility, and return to contribute to their homeland,” Mr. Nguyen shared.
From the experience at Phuoc Son Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School, it is clear that Party development among students is no longer just a formality. In recent years, the school has placed special emphasis on educating students about life ideals through Youth Union activities, volunteer movements, trips to historical sites, and traditional education.
Many ethnic minority students have shown a significant change in their mindset. They are more proactive in their studies, more confident in communication, and actively participate in community activities. This comprehensive educational environment has contributed to the formation of these "red seeds" in the mountainous regions.
In the minds of teachers in the highlands, the admission of Gie Trieng ethnic minority students into the Party is not only an achievement for the school but also a source of hope for the future of the locality. Because behind these applications to join the Party lies the aspiration to escape poverty through knowledge and the desire to contribute to building their homeland.
This also demonstrates the effectiveness of revolutionary ideal education in mountainous areas. When these "red seeds" are sown correctly, with the care of the Party organization, schools, and society, they will continue to grow, becoming a young force with knowledge, courage, and aspirations to contribute to their homeland in the highlands.
