In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Truc Son emphasized: The launch of the project is the beginning of trust and the journey of rural livelihood innovation. The IFIA project is the result of cooperation between the Government of Vietnam, IFAD Fund and AF Fund to promote financial inclusion, helping people, especially women, youth and poor households, access financial services that are fair, sustainable and appropriate to their needs. The province is committed to closely coordinating with donors to implement transparently, effectively and sustainably, ensuring that all resources are used for the right purposes, bringing practical benefits to the people.
The IFIA project marks an important first step in mobilizing climate finance resources, promoting public-private partnerships, creating adaptive livelihood models for coastal communities in Vietnam, contributing to resource protection and sustainable rural development.

The AF Fund is funding the project with a total investment of 5 million USD, implemented from 2025-2030 to promote innovative financial mechanisms to support wetland communities to adapt to climate change, develop sustainable livelihoods and restore mangrove ecosystems. The IFIA project targets 21,000 beneficiaries, of which 50% are women and 30% are youth.

The workshop introduced an overview of the project, management and implementation mechanisms; monitoring and evaluation plans; ensuring environmental and social issues; integrating gender, youth and ethnic minorities; discussing topics on preventing exploitation and sexual abuse, transparency and anti-corruption policies, along with the annual work plan and budget.
